The jays can spend all they want but they cant develop talent like the Yankees, Sox, or Cards so they will never be a dynasty until they fix whatever issues they have that are preventing the successful development of minor league prospects to high-impact star players in the Majors.

I'll give you Cardinals. But who was the last player the Yankees drafted and developed into a star?

we all know the PCL inflates numbers, the same can be said for travis snider. I would have liked to see him play atleast a full season down there maybe he would've learned when to and not to steal 3rd smh.

Yes. They probably mis-handled Snider. But given his lack of success in Pittsburgh (if anything he's gotten WORSE) I just don't think he ever had the makeup to be a solid major leaguer. Classic AAAA level player. I don't think the Jays "ruined" him, although some think they did.

It's interesting, when the Yanks had their run of home grown stars, posada, Jeter, pettitte, they had many of the same talent development guys that are now with the Rays

wRC+. He was 63% better than the league average, which was also inflated.

Doesnt change the fact that he didnt know fundamental baseball, how many times did he try to steal 3rd with 2 outs ? Mentally he was not ready.

He could have an IQ of -12 or whatever King's IQ is. I don't care, if he has a 163 wRC+.

And now the Yankees have very little in the pipeline.. all that's left in position players is Brett Gardner.

Most of their prospects are either frequently hurt, and guys like Phelps, Warren, Nuno are #5 starters at best.

Ivan Nova and Cano before he got traded.

well you guys must be right because he has been so successful in translating his amazing 163 wRC+ from a whaat 63 game sample in the minors ? Also it WASNT easily corrected not when he keeps making the same mistakes over and over again....

I think the people who are currently working in player coordination and scouting for the jays have the same mindset as you, not a compliment btw.

You appear to be new here, so I'll try and reel things in before you make comments to where you can't make an Adam Greenwood'esk return. Most of what you've been saying has been talked about length around here. The Jays appear to be very poor at development...and players that leave the organization appear to improve certain (most) stats. You are making up stats when it comes to development of other teams (http://www.mlbdepthcharts.com/how-assembled-tracker/) so people are going to get defensive about you...it screams potential troll.

Which stat did I make up ? I didnt say a stat about another team. My point was that other teams have more quality homegrown talent than the jays.

I think we've determined that it's who they draft and sign not so much how they develop the players. No?

That's the majority opinion. Drafting mostly high ceiling high risk high school arms and athletic position players who mostly can't hit seems to be the biggest problem.

The fact that Snider and Arencibia both busted so badly after being so highly touted for their bats HAS led to questions about the team's player development though.

A bit of both yes I agree with this.

Remember when CHP said he would bet 10k on beating me on an IQ test? And Admin handed out warnings but Boxy DGAF and proceeded to get both him and CHP banned, good times.

I could see either one of you winning but you sure use your negative 12 IQ better than he uses his.

"Star" is a bit excessive but Brett Gardner?
