Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/images/da/david-and-goliath-womens-jesus-tee.gif This made me laugh harder than it probably should have.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 This made me laugh harder than it probably should have. One of my best friends has this t shirt. I almost choked laughing the first time I saw it.
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Are you hot? Yep, but I'm short at 4'11.
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Reyes was cloned? Sorry, I fixed that mistakes, now take a look. We'll have an 8-man bullpen.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Yep, but I'm short at 4'11. Lol, I don't know how you put up with this kind of stuff every time you post. Pretty sad.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Sorry, I fixed that mistakes, now take a look. We'll have an 8-man bullpen. So you and I have the same roster except you have Kratz, I have Thole and you have Rogers in the rotation with Redmond in the pen, I have the reverse. Save for injuries, there really aren't any surprises that could happen.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Chance of a significant acquisition before season starts. Maybe 10-20%??
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 So you and I have the same roster except you have Kratz, I have Thole and you have Rogers in the rotation with Redmond in the pen, I have the reverse. Save for injuries, there really aren't any surprises that could happen. In my mind, Kratz is just so much better than Thole. By that I mean Kratz is middling, and Thole is below middling. Kratz's offense is a big plus. Rogers and Redmond are both out of options, but Rogers has electric stuff, a higher ceiling if you will, and Redmond seems to do okay being the long guy out of the pen. Now who do I *WANT* to start? I want McGowan and Hutchinson to the 5 and 4. But that ain't happening.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Now who do I *WANT* to start? I want McGowan and Hutchinson to the 5 and 4. But that ain't happening. Sometimes miracles do happen. CY Young Award and CPoY for Dustin?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 It'll be the following - book it... SP (5) ----------- Dickey Morrow Buehrle Happ Rogers Bullpen (8 Man) ---------------- Cecil Delabar Janssen McGowan Santos Loup Redmond Jeffress Catchers (2) --------- Navarro Kratz Infielders (6) --------- Encarnacion Lind Reyes Izturis Lawrie Goins Outfielders (4) -------------- Bautista Cabrera Rasmus Sierra This is a pretty good guess. I think you could see Redmond in the rotation and Rogers in the bullpen depending on their performances in ST. And further to that, this board can be pretty lame and immature. You made one of the better posts in this thread (one of the few that accounts for both the options on certain pitchers playing a factor as well as the Jays FO sending Gose down to AAA with some sort of defensive-disaster of Melky/Sierra combo manning backup CF) and instead of anyone giving you an actual reply you are instead objectified for being female. I hate to sound preachy but if I were a mod I'd delete those posts and give warnings (if not a temporary ban) to anyone engaging in or encouraging this kind of behavior.

Not only the initial posts but the follow up "lol" posts and likes that only encourage this type of behavior shouldn't be a part of this board.

This kind of stuff is going to happen whenever females tread in a predominantly male territory no matter the type of people or subject matter. It's lame but she (if I can assume that) seems to be handling it pretty well.

But this is a pretty tight-knit community rather than a large bloated forum with no rules. The mods have banned, given warnings, or deleted posts before. This seems like as good of a time as any for a mod to do something, especially since this board was started in large part to get rid of all the unrelated BS that plagued the official forums.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I will retract Happ from my roster projection and add Santana. I think it actually happens.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Going Santana instead of Happ almost certainly lessens the stress on the bullpen. And could allow you to more comfortably keep both Sierra and Gose on the team and sticking to 7 in the pen if you're so inclined. (And I am)
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Step #1 in avoiding that would be a username that isn't "BlueJaysGirl". 90% of posters here have never made a post explicitly stating that they're male. People just kind of assume it. So the misogyny we've seen so far is her fault for her handle being "BlueJaysGirl"? lol
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 No, but unfortunately that's how young men have acted on virtually every site in the history of the internet. It sucks, but it's an easy problem to avoid. So all the girls on this forum should act like guys and the problem is solved? lol listen to yourself. Instead, how about we all act like adults? And if we don't (you egging him on with "lol" included) then your post gets deleted with some sort of warning or temporary ban?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I am all for banning BTS, any time for any thing.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 OK, can we get back to talking about our shaky rotation??
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 OK, can we get back to talking about our shaky rotation?? Yes please. Stinking Baltimore is signing Santana to a minor-league deal. He'll be ready by July I wager, and effective for a great deal.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Damn, I wanted him. f*** Baltimore, man. They are really trolling us this year
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 (edited) Yes please. Stinking Baltimore is signing Santana to a minor-league deal. He'll be ready by July I wager, and effective for a great deal. Did he throw any bullpen sessions for scouts or anything? I didn't really hear anything. And assuming he goes straight to the 40 man it might have been hard to squeeze him on to our roster. That said, if Happ and others continue pitching like crap then a move like this (assuming there are any) might become easier to make. Edited March 3, 2014 by Terminator
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 What I want for pitchers: Rotation: Dickey Morrow Buehrle Santana Hutchison Bullpen: Cecil Delabar Janssen Mcgowan Santos Loup Rogers (swing man / spot starts) AAA SP depth: Happ Redmond (oh wait no options so not sure) Stroman Nolin Vs DFA/traded: Jeffress (essentially unkeepable) Happ if possible Romero ideally but no one will take unless we get a bad contract in return possibly
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 That is short. Pic ; ) Knock it off LOL:) The lady has taken some s*** from a bunch of guys on here and she stuck around Respect that. She's welcome here. Let's not annoy her in to leaving.
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 That is short. Pic ; ) My PROFILE has my pic, when I'm logged in. But when I'm not logged in, I can't see it. I have no idea why. EDIT: Fixed. I would hate to throw away Jeffress, but unless we free up the log jam, there isn't a choice.

Given the options if Redmond could take the #5 job and leave Hutchinson in AAA that might help out with depth some. We'd need Hutchinson anyway as the #6 SP.

Yep unless Hutch is much better than Redmond over the next 3 weeks, you could do that as a way to keep both But AA has to be trading some of these guys too. The BP situation is untenable.
