TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 are you calling this one a bust or just genuinely being nice and posting? The Beede update threads stopped shortly after it was obvious he'd probably still be a first rounder.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I read in a tweet when I was trying to find information about Beede's start that he has signed the waiver and the jays are eligible to draft him Interesting. I would have thought he would have done everything possible to avoid having to deal with Beaston and the Jays. It will create a bit of intrigue if he's still on the board when the Jays are drafting.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Mayo and Callis both Beede will go top 5 And this is a year AA REALLY doesn't want to risk failing to sign his first rounders, in fact it would be sort of a disaster if he didn't get both signed
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Why wouldn't he? I don't remember him being bitter... He wanted to go to college. Yeah I don't understand why he would have animosity towards the Blue Jays. We offered him a boatload of money. Ultimately, he decided he'd rather go to college. There's no reason to think the negotiating tactics we played with him were anything out of the ordinary.

I got the Paxton and Beede scenarios mixed up ITT.

Laika Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Yeah that's a pretty gross delivery right now. Honestly looks like a right handed Juan Perez, lmao.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Phil Bickford 2014 Stats: 2.03 ERA, 14 G, 7 GS, 53.1 IP, 46 H, 57 SO, 10 BB.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Impressive. Maybe he'll develop secondaries, even.

Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I didn't follow the draft last year ... Is there anyone we passed with the Bickford pick thats looking like a stud??
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I didn't follow the draft last year ... Is there anyone we passed with the Bickford pick thats looking like a stud?? It wasn't a great draft overall. Pitcher Braden Shipley and J.P. Crawford seem to be the names that get tossed around when discussing who the Jays could have drafted instead of Bickford. Crawford would definitely fill a big need. If there are any studs in this draft class they probably went before the Jays pick (Gray, Bryant and Meadows are some of the better candidates.)

They shouldn't have to do that, if they have signability issues the jays should stay away especially for that 11th pick

Gotta draft well and sign this year. The farm system needs a boost.
