NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I like that we have Brenden Kalfus coming up in the minor leagues. Man can that kid play. He's the future of the team!
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 -We have one of the top 5 best bullpens in the AL -We have a 1B stud slugger on a cheap contract.
ExposFan Verified Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 We have Mike Wilner in the booth. I admire his fair-minded approach to baseball.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I really like the Kratz aquisition. Lincoln wasn't really useful and the extra depth behind Navarro will be useful. It seems like he'll be given a chance to catch Dickey and flat out beat Thole for the backup spot which is also good news.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 We have a stud defender at 2B who projects to be as good as Brandon Phillips.

What is this team good at? I’ll start: We have Jose Reyes. I believe Ryan Goins will put up a .305 on base percentage and 1 or 2 WAR based on defense. If Brett Lawrie is healthy he will be as good as Kelly Gruber 88 to 90. Stroman may well be the greatest pitcher as short or shorter then himself of all time (depending on Tom Gordon's exact official height to the 1/10 inch). If Hutchison is healthy he could be really good. Was better (statistically) then Stroman until his TJ. He is 6'2" so the short-people haters can't hate him. Drabek could be the greatest double TJ pitcher of all time. Melky may be the greatest former steroid former tumour guy ever.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I don't mind our lineup when healthy, even with Izturis/Goins.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 This thread is so much fail.

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 They'll be much better than the 1976 Toronto Blue Jays. we already have BTS. We don't need BTS on steroids
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 No Ramon Ortiz or Chien-Ming Wang
bigpaulie Verified Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I liked that they signed a Hall Of Fame Pitcher, this off season
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 We haven't been contracted yet. Our uniforms are nice. AA will probably be fired after another year of no playoffs. That's all I've got.
bigpaulie Verified Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I believe we still have the fastest grounds crew in baseball
The_DH Verified Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 That team marketing all wants us to be happy and create this thread.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 You can see the CN Tower when the roof's open?
Jays Verified Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 If we don't make the playoffs this year, then we'll make them the next year.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 AA has a BA. He'll be lucky to get a job selling cell phones for Telus at the mall. We have the greatest GM of all time of all the GMs with as much or less baseball experience as AA, as much or less education, and as much or less other life accomplishments.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 You can see the CN Tower when the roof's open? When the roof is open you can actually watch the game from that window floory thingy up their. I watched a bit of an argos game from up there last year.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 If we don't make the playoffs this year, then we'll make them the next year. And if we don't make them next year we'll make them the year after that.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 If we don't make the playoffs this year, then we'll make them the next year. One very positive thing is that after reading this thread (a classic I think) I have finally clued into how the Rogers 3 year plan works... If we don't win this year (year 1) we win next year (year 2) if we don't win next year we win the year after that (year 3). #Beestly, #Rogers3YearPlan
awsomest Verified Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 - Alex has managed to retain value by not overpaying Free agents - Happ is a really strong guy who won 12 games once - Up and coming premium talent on the roster including goins, seirra, gose - Ricky Romero could make a comeback - Yankees tied themselves up with contacts that will hurt them in the long run (Tanaka, ellsbury) - still two years left in our three year window - new turf filling - not caving in and signing any boras clients - Signed a Hall of fame pitcher on a one day contract which fits perfectly in AA's term limit of free agent pitchers - looks to have a more focused and less distracting camp which should help them win games in july Whats not to love?
Rajais Mitten Verified Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Our expectations are low so i don't have to go through last year's emotional roller coaster again..
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 It's going to be very interesting to see if what happens if this team wins 82 games this year. Do they keep the core together for another ill-advised kick at the can in 2015? If so, is payroll going to $170 million? If not, does Beeston get called out mercilessly by the media for his comments about contending? Maybe he will do the right thing and take down his banner on the level of excellence..the self appointed one.
