"Sierra is an early favourite to earn a job in part because of his contractual status."

And finally (then I'm done here) this is the WORST possible reason to give someone a spot on the 25 man roster. FFS.

Look, if we knew he has going to hit like Goldschmidt or something you do stuff like this to make room for him. But is the bat even going to play??

It'd rather him continue RF but I guess it's for versatility, but if an injury happens mid game, id rather give Bautista the rest of the game off at 1B and throw Sierra I'm right. And if anything Sierra's weakness is his glove more than his arm, he has a cannon

Wouldn't that work against him because he still has options?? I thought the jays like keeping people with options in the minors and claim people every week.

Agree. If he can't play the OF acceptably he's useless to us.

He has no options. That's why they said that in the article.

LOUP AND PILLAR ARE BETTER BUT WE'LL GO WITH JEFFRESS AND SIERRA BECAUSE THEY ARE OUT OF OPTIONS

THAT WAY I CAN KEEP MY HEAD IN THE SAND AND AVOID ACTUAL ROSTER MANAGEMENT AND I CAN WAIT UNTIL SOME IDIOT GM WILL GIVE ME SOMETHING GOOD IN TRADE FOR THEM

If they actually option Loup just to retain L. Perez or Jeffress I'm going to rage.

That's what I'm talking about

Also, f*** this front office for even considering Moises Sierra for the 25-man. He's 25 years old and wasn't even above-average offensively in AAA last year. He has no platoon splits. He runs the bases like an imbecile. He's one of the worst defenders I've ever seen. He has absolutely nothing to offer a major league ball team, and it's embarrassing that the front office doesn't realize this. You can't give MLB roster spots to bad players just because they're out of options. FFS this org is a gong show.

Say whuuuuuut??

Yeah it's pretty thames-tastic

Thames-tastic

adj.

1. A decision that is wasteful in nature; a decision of egregious quality.

Bro, I should totally buy a snuggie!

Nah bro, that's pretty Thames-tastic.

Sierra doesn't have options.

Goddammit, I should have read the entire thing through

See these are things that can be easily fixed with him IMO but I'm afraid that he just isn't smart enough to get it. Like he has decent speed and a great arm. I'm pretty sure he can learn (through practice) not to jump on balls to early/learn routes to balls and to follow the goddamn coaches when running. Like you said, he's f***ing 25 years old and has played the parts of 2 MLB seasons, as much as I think he might have something to offer, I don't like giving this type of a chance to someone who lacks baseball IQ/common sense.

I'm not sure if you have the answer to this, but do you think the admin has control to turn on all-caps posts, or is it untouchable? People are still going to post all-caps posts with or without this option on (just with cap fillers though)

Convert him to a reliever

Alex loves relievers

And he'd be a reliever with no options. A particular favorite type no less.

Yeah I'd love to see that changed. Will find out.

In the meantime I'm a firm believer in trying to give your cap filler a little S I Z Z L E

If he hasn't learned that kind of basic stuff by now after all those years in the minors, expecting him to suddenly pick it at the major league level is pretty silly.

Good article. I read it the other day. Most people in normal life go on long term disability with the type of pain Melky was dealing with and he played professional baseball with it.

Snider-ific?

A quality used to describe food simultaneously suitable for: causing morbid obesity and apparently constituting the diet of professional athletes. Example: that 72oz steak is Sniderific

Arencibi-ish

Is actually "Arencerbic" and refers to an abrasive style of speaking specific to Tweets. Example: his responses to the much smarter Hayhurst were absolutely Arencerbic.

Happ-hazard

Instances in which being a beanpole predisposes one to certain accidents. Example: the LD hit that lanky f***er right in the dome! He's a total Happhazard.

McGowan-esque

A term used to describe professional athletes suffering from diabetes. Type II McGowanism can be caused by a Sniderific diet. Example: a rotation comprised of 2/5 McGowanesque pitchers will surely be an unmitigated disaster.

The only issue I take with the Sniderific diet there is that it would not, based on science, cause diabetes. Diabetes would be caused by your high carb, high glycemic index based foods like breads, pasta, etc. Basically just eating sugar.
