GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Speaking of sports writers opinions. I was watching MLB network and this one analyst who called himself a "SABR" kinda guy was arguing that you can't consider Choo a "great" left fielder because he was lacking in the RBI stat line. It was pretty hilarious. Who, Brian Kenny?
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Who, Brian Kenny? Eric Byrnes i believe.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 You're not clear. he wants you to post actual predictions instead of constantly claiming that you knew something after the fact. Is that clear?
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Who, Brian Kenny? It's on the MLB network right now. "top 10 left fielders" It's hilarious.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 It's on the MLB network right now. "top 10 left fielders" It's hilarious. Jesus.

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Speaking of people who use words like "sure thing" but have no credibility. We have our very own DJ Blueray and he's back with his "lock" picks. http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=1&nav=messages&webtag=ml-bluejays&tid=93272
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Well, this is a fun thread to look back on. So, with the Jays currently 66-66 and with the original betting line at 77.5 wins, they'd need to go 11-19 or worse over the final 30 games to finish "Under." 1 more v. Boston, 3 v. NYY, 3 @ TB, 3 @ Boston, 3 v. Cubs, 3 v. TB, 3 @ Orioles, 4 @ Yanks, 4 v. M's, 3 v. Orioles or, looking at it another way: 7 NYY 6 Orioles, TB 4 M's, BoSox 3 Cubs What say you? As much as the team has been bad this last stretch its going to be really hard for them to finish with less than 78 wins. I could see EE getting shut down by the second week of September but even then there is too much talent for them not to win 79-81 games.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 13-17 in their last 30. 6-16 in August (a winning percentage which would lead to an 8-22 record over 30 games). 3-7 since Edwin's been back. (9-21 record over 30 games at that win rate) Do you think that is really sustainable though? I know that you know the team is a lot better than their August record indicates.

I only picked teams I was confident about this year... although I homered on the Jays a bit and it worked out.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
