Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 That is not a pretty picture.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Someone send these to AA so de doesn't go ahead with his plan to use an 8-man pen so as not to lose Perez and Jeffress to waivers. I don't have an issue with 8 man pen just because Jays bench is so horrid I could care less to see any of them ever play.. plus most Jay BP pieces are a coin flip in terms of what their production might be.. so I don't mind 8 guys to start and weeding out..
DwightDM Verified Member Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I just don't see how they function properly without a 4-man bench. IMO they need 4 roles: backup C: Kratz/Thole backup MIF: Izturis backup OF: Gose/Pillar RH bat to platoon with Lind: ????????? Jeff Baker.

I meant as-is.. but yeah, its be preferable to get another bat on the bench... my point was just how atrocious the in-house alternatives were.. I would rather have the bigger pen and at least one guy will be s*** and get weeded out of the group.. if Sierra is that platoon guy plus Pillar/Gose.. I know I will see one of them more than I want to..
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Jeff Baker. I think we all want Baker, but he doesn't solve the 3 man bench problem since he can't play center or short. Still want him badly though.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=4054&position=2B/OF We have to come up with an appropriate board punishment for this

kgm1 Verified Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Hell Baker is the perfect fit but we all know it will NEVER happen ! It is either Sierra or an 8 man BP and I'm not sure what is worse . It is looking more and more like AA isn't going to get a pitcher and if that is the case we may need an 8 man BP

He's the only player who can backup the OF properly and be a right-handed bat. I kind of like him him as a starving man's Reed Johnson.
