Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Author Posted July 3, 2014 How is one elbow a yellow and another time a red?
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 Should be a good game tonight vs Vancouver, and no baseball. I hope Bradley plays
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 Toronto FC to part ways with Nelsen
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 Report: Defoe wants out of Toronto FC lol @ mlse, such a disgraceful organization.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 TFC couldn't represent what Sports are like in Toronto any better.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I don't understand why Defoe would come to the MLS in the first place. It's a trash league for s***** players and old has-beens. He maybe should have done like 5 minutes of research to confirm this before moving his whole life to Canada.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Defoe is an old has-been. OK.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 OK. lol, he couldn't make it onto the 1st team of Tottenham in his final year in the BPL. He obviously came to TFC because they offered more money than any PL team would.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Stadium looks really nice but I'm afraid they are making the capacity too big. If you have 30 000 seats I doubt more than 25000 will go to a game. I think its better to be filled at capacity at a lower number.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 Agreed, I think 30k is too big for right now
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Agreed, I think 30k is too big for right now Its too big no matter what. Its better to have a high demand for a sold out 20 000 then have unfilled seats. Judging by the TV numbers TFC gets Im not sure that 30 000 will ever work.

With a budget of ~100M... I'd say that it's pretty much a given that the Argo's will be relocating to BMO though.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Reminds me of TD stadium in Ottawa. I hope the Argos will relocate there.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 http://www.thescore.com/mls/news/672004 RiP TFC
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 http://www.thescore.com/mls/news/672004 RiP TFC I don't follow MLS but from that article it sounds like TFC completely bungled this.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Defoe for Altidore+cash??? http://www.thescore.com/mls/news/679641 Can someone educated on soccer give thoughts? From my very casual viewpoint, seems like a solid deal all things considered.
Dr Negative Verified Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Altidore is a complete donkey at the premier league level but tore the Dutch league apart so he should do well in the MLS. If he plays well I'd expect him to go back to Europe to try to prove himself again.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Is CFL or MLS bigger on this board?
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 The national watch paint dry league is probably bigger than both combined.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Altidore is a better fit because he'll actually want to be here.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Altidore is a better fit because he'll actually want to be here. MLS might want him in NYC. Ugh. f*** that.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Yay Jozy Altidore! This is a coup for TFC, right?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Yay Jozy Altidore! This is a coup for TFC, right? Defoe is hard to replace but ya I'd say we did v well. But if MLS forces him to NY somehow I'll probably never pay attention to the MLS ever again.

But if MLS forces him to NY somehow I'll probably never pay attention to the MLS ever again. Defoe leaving was a given though... he checked out a few games into the season lol. Toxic attitude. Here they get a player who should be great in MLS and cash back. Best they could have hoped for.
