Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Sometimes I wonder about that Jose, does he really play for "our" team? Who gives a s***? He's really good at baseball. I don't give a f*** if he's a drag queen in his spare time as long as he mashes on the field.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 The "five others": http://i.gyazo.com/0dc865ae85a740cb90e775528e7db694.png Canseco: Hilarious Blair: Creepy Stroman: Disappointing MacArthur: Ugh Bautista: Well, of course

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 The f***ing righteousness. What?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 What? I think he takes offense to your tolerant view of the LGBT community.

LongTimeReader Verified Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I think he takes offense to your tolerant view of the LGBT community. Boxcar. You're a piece of work. I love the forums new apparent values: Insult and degrade people with zero remorse and regard to anyone; unless said remarks are misaligned with current political ideals.

There's a big difference between being an idiot and a bigot. The former is unavoidable, the latter is unacceptable.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 And once again, Peter Angelos is a cheapskate.. Rasmus seems headed for the Astros instead of the O's..
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Astros building an interesting team. greatest HR/K rate of all time?
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Astros building an interesting team. Was about to say the same. Gregerson, Neshek, Rasmus, Lowrie, Gattis, Valbuena and Vogelsong. Interesting is probably the best word to describe it. Lots of potentially hidden and under-appreciated value there.

Laika Community Moderator Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Astros building an interesting team. Should trade for Hamels. Give Philly Moran and/or Appel and some spare parts like Villar, Domingo, Marisnick, Woj,
King Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Vogelsong apparently taking a physical with the Astros as well, today. Astros going for it!
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Altuve 2B Lowrie SS Springer RF Carter DH Gattis LF Rasmus CF Singleton 1B Valbuena 3B Castro C
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Altuve 2B Lowrie SS Springer RF Carter DH Gattis LF Rasmus CF Singleton 1B Valbuena 3B Castro C Maybe on opening day, but I don't think it will be long until Carter/Gattis are playing 1B/DH, Singleton is optioned or on the bench, and Marisnick/Grossman/Presley are in some OF spot.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Should trade for Hamels. Give Philly Moran and/or Appel and some spare parts like Villar, Domingo, Marisnick, Woj, I would trade Appel in a heartbeat. Amaro might be dumb enough to take Appel as a centerpiece.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Your lack of Singleton faith is disturbing
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Your lack of Singleton faith is justified ftfy
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 If he fails my DDL team is slightly worse... and that just can't happen, so he will be good. #logic

Governator Community Moderator Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 This should give the Astros the upper hand on the Cubs for the most strikeouts in the majors.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 This should give the Astros the upper hand on the Cubs for the most strikeouts in the majors. I dunno, Bryant, Baez and Alcantara: giving a whole new meaning to Generation K
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Your lack of Singleton faith is disturbing Last two years in the upper minors he's been a K-per-game player that's hit .230 and .267. His power in the minors hasn't been overly impressive, and on top of that, he smokes drugs!. Basically, I don't think he has enough power to cover for what I see as a very weak hit tool for a 1B prospect. I don't see him as a big leaguer, but even if he squeaks by I think he's a 20-25 HR version of Adam Dunn with a bit less walks, which would be, more or less, a replacement level player who only really gets consistent playing time based on "production".
StroShow Verified Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I dunno, Bryant, Baez and Alcantara: giving a whole new meaning to Generation K Not sure if Baez's historic K% has ever been brought up here, but in the last 100 years he has the highest K% for players with >200 PAs. Olt is 3rd and Singleton is 7th.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Astros Sign Colby to 1 year $8M deal and DFA Carlos Corporan. Claim Corporan for backup pls. 93 wRC+ on a .264 BABIP with solid framing and defense. Do want.
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Claim Corporan for backup pls. 93 wRC+ on a .264 BABIP with solid framing and defense. Do want. What are the odds that Toronto starts the year with Navarro and Thole both still on the 25 man? I'd say uncomfortably high.
