Freeman50 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 it took me a bit. Keep your eye on the ball you'll see it go to left. Hughes was fooled bad. Yeah that's what I saw, but didn't get how he was so deceived.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Cliff Lee injured...out of the game with a bum elbow after suffering a strain earlier in the year. Looks like maybe TJ. Wonder if he will just retire.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Hah, I should've traded... Cliff Lee: Leaves Thursday's Game With Elbow Injury Posted on July*31,*2014 at 4:55 PM NEWS UPDATE Lee left Thursday's game in the third inning with an apparent left elbow injury. ROTOWIRE FANTASY ANALYSIS Lee tapped his elbow twice after stepping off the mound, and after a brief meeting with trainers, he exited the game. This development is concerning, as a left elbow strain caused Lee to miss significant time earlier in the season. More information should be made available from manager Ryne Sandberg following the game. Lee made it through 2.2 scoreless innings before being forced to exit. More Cliff Lee News from RotoWire.com If it is TJS, any team that picked him up would've had to pay 25M next year for him not to pitch for them (depending on insurance), plus either 12.5M buyout or 27.5M the following year. That's a lot of cash for a cheerleader.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Man, any teams on him just dodged a big bullet if that's the case. Yeah, really glad Spank was unreasonable off the bat so I didn't even bother negotiating. Whew!
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Yeah, really glad Spank was unreasonable off the bat so I didn't even bother negotiating. Whew! Hmmm, wonder what Spanky's price would be now?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Hah, I should've traded... Luckily I was able to deal him away. Yeah, really glad Spank was unreasonable off the bat so I didn't even bother negotiating. Whew! What was his asking price?
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Pathetic Angels.. 8 hits so far and they can't drive anything in! Still 0-0.

Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Pretty excited to see the new look Red Sox tonight. Man that sell came out well. Dangerous team in 2015 and with that farm system producing stud after stud. The Red Sox might be the class of the division for the next 10-15 years after 2015. The Blue Jays window to win is now and next year so lets hope it works out. Where exactly are there studs? i like betts that's pretty much it.
Freeman50 Verified Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Betts is probably their best bet of producing a star level player (though he's not even close to being a sure thing in that regard) ... maybe Swihart, too, if only because he's a rare catcher ... so I think "stud" is the wrong term. Though, if you include Bogaerts, despite his struggles this year, I think he'll be a stud, as well. They do seem to have a pipeline of quality MLB contributors coming in, however. Guys who could be starting MLB positional guys, or mid-rote SPs. They lack that front-liner break out guy in the pitching department. Webster's stuff is phenomenal - I like it better than Sanchez's, actually (I'm in the minority there) ... but he seems to have inherent control and command issues which will always limit his effectiveness. Owens will probably max out at a #2, if that. Keep an eye on Coyle, actually. He has contact issues, which may limit his upside ... but if he ever ticks his Ks down a bit, he could be another one that they need to find another position for, because of Pedroia's presence. http://www.forums.mlb.com/profiles/ju1ced?ptpi=y&nav=profileCard&userId=416360969&webtag=mlmajorprofile
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Ryan Webb is a solid arm, shocked he got designated. Knowing AA's fetish for relievers, he's interested.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Speaking of the name Webb, I do miss Brandon Webb. Unfortunate that his career got derailed by injuries. Great pitcher.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Hopefully we claim. I don't see that being a bad move.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Betts, Cecchini, Devers, Owens, Swihart, Webster, Ranaudo, Eduardo Rodriguez. Big fan of the Michael Kopech pick. Not all of those guys will pan out. Cecchini and Webster have potential bust risk. Swihart hasn't reached AAA yet. Eduardo Rodrigeuz was dealt after struggling in AA with the Orioles. Also, many of these guys could be traded as well in future deals (Stanton?)

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 So Gibbons still struggles with the concept of platoon's. Hes playing Valencia out of position and starting him against a RHP while benching Francisco. Yea he had 2 hits last night. But history suggests he can't hit RHP. Francisco is on his way out. As soon as Lawrie, Edwin, and Lind are back he will be a bench player at best.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Francisco is on his way out. As soon as Lawrie, Edwin, and Lind are back he will be a bench player at best. He will be platooning at 3B with Valencia, Lawrie to 2B and Lind/EE to 1B/DH. Francisco will get plenty of playing time.
