burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Scout/trainer IAMA Comments on Stroman Very interesting comments on Aiken, I didn't know he did CrossFit. If you don't know anything about weightlifting, crossfit is basically something you do not want to do and it's just a fad. It increases your injury risk considerably with no benefit. http://www.drivelinebaseball.com/2012/11/16/npa-velocity-holds-their-true-origins-and-mechanical-problems-that-come-with-them/ Found this interesting. Seems to not like the weighted ball program. Also interesting reading through that page that some teams he calls useless with nutrition in sport. Iv always found it curious why baseball has dragged so far behind other sports in terms of nutrition.

Funny because the Owner of the facility I liked above said Jack Z is one of the oldest thinking GMs and is very reluctant to do new things.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Jack Z is pathetic. And I LOVE when AA deals with him Please keep him there

torontofan Verified Member Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 That would be interesting. Matt Kemp in Fenway would be otherworldly. You are setting yourself up for failure.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I know its Dirk but interesting and rather disturbing read nonetheless. I didn't really doubt that this happens in terms of clubhouse talk but never thought it would get to that level that is mentioned at the end. http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/86730234/minor-league-baseball-masculine-culture-exploitation?tru=bpXcrl#disqus_thread

Anyone. Moms, daughters, moms and daughters. Big ones, little ones, odd sizes and plus sizes. Ex-girlfriends, new girlfriends, your girlfriend. Once, when a teammate's sister came to visit, it took Jimmy all of a day and half to get her into bed. "You can't be mad at him, bro," I heard another teammate say to the girl's brother. "It's what he does. He's like the rain, or the mountains, or the moon and the stars. He just can't be stopped."

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Basically he's a rapist. Don't want to give Bleacher Report the click but unless there's something from the article I don't know, promiscuity does not equal rape. Some people have loads of consentual sex without ever crossing the line.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Really disturbing article. That takes guts releasing that. I figured stuff like that was typical but not to that level I'm disgusted by that "train" part
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Here is the article. Holly s***! I stand corrected. I guess I can understand better why Dirk uses Bleacher Report as his platform. Not a lot of sites would touch something like that.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Explains the motives behind Goins on Tinder. lol Here's an article I read awhile back on weed in baseball. Pretty interesting. http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/82863196/major-league-baseball-marijuana-testing-rules-40-man-roster#!bp0yG5 Pretty much outs David Price, Evan Longoria and Reid Brignac as users. I have no doubt that weed is used heavily by players in the MLB. Im sure you would be surprised to know how many athletes in sports (Big 4) use cocaine. And tbh i don't really care about players smoking weed. The rape thing however is terrible and when the NFL suspends Ray Rice for only 2 games it really sheds light on how women are portrayed in sports.

The worst part about this is that no one is really going to talk about it even though it is a huge story and would be front of ESPN material had a major news station published it.
