Orioles' second-half schedule: Brutal. Their first 26 games after the All-Star break are against teams with records of .500 or better

AL East is still up for grabs.. Jays need to take advantage.

This is reminiscent of a couple years back, when the upstart Orioles were winning, and all were shocked. They kept calling for their impending doom. After all, their run differential was negative. Very negative. One of the worst in the league. And the players were all overachieving. They couldn't keep it up. No way. RTTM. And then they kept winning, and their run differential improved, as did their winning percentage. They finished with 93 wins and a playoff berth.

And then they couldn't do it the next year. Total fluke. Last place. Easily worst team in the division. And while they didn't make the playoffs, they did win 85 games again.

Now, this year, it's the schedule. They're ripe for the taking.

Underestimating the Orioles is a thing.

They have a very good group of position players even with Davis being terrible so far. I think everyone sees their pitching and thinks they can't keep it up. I don't think you can keep thinking they will fall back down to earth though and have to treat them as a pretty good ballclub.

Re: Hamilton.

When was the last time a player was called out for running on the inside of the baseline. It's pretty much like the "in the area" play that's completely flawed and should be fixed so it's called the same way everything

If I remember correctly as long as you're within roughly 3 feet of the line you're OK. That line was almost touching the grass, he looks OK to me.

As I said before, Reyes was called out when he was actually touching the chalk or just off it....I guess there's a different rule against the Jays.

I luv pitchers hitting grand slams. I really do.

Bumgarnher hitting .275 this season. Higher BA than Michael Morse, Gregor Blanco and Pablo Sandoval. LOL

0.6 offensive fWAR coming into this game, should be higher now. His wRC+ jumps to 139 after this game.

.432 Slugging

I don't even want to think about how many guys on our current roster are hitting worse than that :(

(Caveat: I know it's a fluke. He's a career .153 hitter)

I have a theory that JFaS ' recent lack of posts is due to him being hired by a team. He hasn't been giving us any analytical stuff recently or posting to BB. Suspicious.

No one's been posting to BB and when you think about it, most of the regulars have stopped posting outside of OT. He probably just falls into that category.

It's GD's fault.

I gather GD is the new scapegoat for most things instead of FatCow? I must have missed the memo.

Not nearly as jealous as you are of my thanks/post ratio.

I remember suggesting he had been hired by the Blue Jays when they had that huge expansion of their stats dept from 1 to 2 employees.

We should double check this with a stats guy but that sounds like a 100% increase in personnel

Couple of player DL as a regular in his BBDL team. Maybe He's working with the Rays.
