jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Real mystery here why Jorge Polanco got a call-up. My guess is they have no better options.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 blue jay bingo That would definitely get a bingo every game considering our lousy analysts and the frequent technical difficulties. As for "Shows a commercial for a team other than the Jays", I think I saw a Mariners commercial last night. I wonder what the bingo card would look like for the Chicago White Sox.. you could fill an entire card with all the dumb things Hawk Harrelson says..

TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Scouts must know something we don't... .767 OPS in high A ball doesn't seem to warrant a call up (sorry Ang) solid defensively and it's a position of short-term need, short term. Guy is praised as a max effort, highly coachable type. I tend to find those guys need less minor league time anyway so when they use up an option sending him back down (which I assume is their intention) it could work out that in 4 years he's out of options but still shows upside then it's a huge roster management error but I don't see it as bad as wasting an option on a pitcher. It's still a little shocking but it's probably not the most egregious error they've made.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Time to pad the lead folks We get 4 games vs the White Sox (winning less than 3/4 unnaceptable and we already took the opener) Meanwhile our rivals all play each other! Tampa vs Baltimore double header today and Boston @ New York Yankees I want to end this weekend with at least an extra 1.5-2.0 games of a lead. This is one of those times you have to get it done. Can't spin your wheels. Go Jays!

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 For once I'll be cheering on the red sox and the rays! Yeah even a Tampa/Baltimore split over 4 games would be great. But that offensive matchup there is devastatingly in favour of the O's.

Does appear to be a drop-off in last start... but even with that he struck out 6 over 7. http://www.fangraphs.com/pitchfxo.aspx?playerid=15764&position=P&pitch=FA

That is amazing. McCan boy o boy can he steal strikes

GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Gose maybe should have been a CFL wide receiver or corner back?? Also known as Anthony Alford in 5 years
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 We're not kidding when we say Kratz is one of the team's best players. He'd be up there with Lucroy and McCann if you prorate his stats (which you may be able to, JFaS has shown framing stabilizes very quickly). Brian McCann barely has to hit to live up to that contract (which Yankees fans think is an albatross lol). Robot umps, we can't let McCann live up to that contract

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Game 1 of a DH vs Rays not going so well for the O's. Down 5-1 in the 6th.
Convo Verified Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Mostly due to his splitter.. but that decreased fastball velocity could be a problem. Some how I suspect he'd get by as an effective pitcher with this drop in velocity. But the Yankees would be so screwed if he's no long effective / healthy.
