G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Stupid White Sox blow pen Have surrendered two walk off wins against Orioles in 3 games. Last night the winning run scored on a wild pitch in the 12th f*** off You will be punished for this by Edwin E and Adam Lind Mandatory sweep this weekend. Beat the crap out if them.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Hoping the bats wake up even more vs the White Sox We get Sale (vs Stroman!) for game 3 but the first 2 games could be slugfests. And their bullpen should be exploitable.

They've had every chance to win in the O's series.. but the White Sox bullpen has managed to find ways to blow games frequently. Good news is that the pen is likely a little taxed after last night's 12 inning affair, and a terrible Scott Caroll going tonight.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Yanks vs. Red Sox series this weekend: Workman vs. Nuno (adv. Red Sox) Lester vs. Tanaka (tough call) Lackey vs. Whitley (adv. Red Sox) Good chance for the Jays to pick up ground on the Yankees this weekend. Most of the pitching matchups favour Boston.. let's just hope they can score!

Having Bautista back for that game (even as DH) would help a lot.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 WSox DFA Scotty Downs Welcome back old man.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 WSox DFA Scotty Downs Welcome back old man. Wow... I would bring him back in a heartbeat. Bad start to the season but he's been consistently nails for like 6-7 years.
Convo Verified Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Wow... I would bring him back in a heartbeat. Bad start to the season but he's been consistently nails for like 6-7 years. Peripherals are not awful despite high ERA. But doesn't he do exactly what Aaron Loup does now?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 He's lost his control, but overall he seems to be an effective situational lefty. Can't do worse than Rasmussen
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Peripherals are still pretty good despite high ERA. But doesn't he do exactly what Aaron Loup does now? Loup is more of a 2+ inning guy in my eyes. Downs is pretty much a straight loogy. Downs can still get LH out. I would love this.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 How long is Cecil out for?? DFA Rasmussen and sign Downs if can work

Convo Verified Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Downs hasn't really been used as a loogy throughout his career. These guys are basically identical. But since we can't use Loup everyday, maybe there's some rationale in picking him up?
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 I hate situational lefties, i think they are a waste of a roster spot

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Strike out rates are still good. GB% is fantastic... 6th in inducing ground balls as a reliever over the last 5 years at 61%.... Guy is still very useful.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Nothing wrong with adding another lefty to the pen for cheap.

Otherwise numbers look to be okay besides ERA.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Downs over Rasmussen should be a no-brainer really.
