Downs hasn't really been used as a loogy throughout his career. These guys are basically identical. But since we can't use Loup everyday, maybe there's some rationale in picking him up?

Strike out rates are still good. GB% is fantastic... 6th in inducing ground balls as a reliever over the last 5 years at 61%.... Guy is still very useful.

His velocity seems to be down 1.5 MPH this year. Otherwise numbers look to be okay besides ERA.
