NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I remember seeing John Hattig back in 2006. BTW, what about Davis Romero? We never saw him again after that same season Ty Taubenheim made his debut. Worse, Ty's 2nd start was my very first Jays game (no joke). John Hattig is the only player in history from Guam! I'm surprised he didn't bounce around in the minors for a few years after his cup of coffee. We had a lot of dead-end players from 2004-2009. Reminiscing about them is amusing.

Blame it on that JP Riccardi. Thank goodness he's no longer in this organization.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Rays blow a golden opportunity to tie the game with the baserunning mistake. Loney with the bases loaded 2 outs down by 1.

HASHTAGYOLOSWAG Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Reading some 2005 mock drafts: "Pirates scouts want the athletic McCutchen and apparently will be allowed to take him, though upper management would prefer a college player such as Texas A&M shortstop Cliff Pennington or Massachusetts righthander Matt Torra." "On Monday afternoon, the Rockies decided to pass on Hochevar, who is thought to desire a major league contract in the neighborhood of $5 million. Getting Tulowitzki is a nice consolation."

It's such a crapshoot. It sounds so funny that you might pass over McCutchen for Matt f***ing Torra, but s*** like that happens every year. You just can't tell with these guys half the time.

Thaddeus Malice Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Man Rays are 14 games under .500, so they'd have to go something like 70-32 the rest of the way to win the division. You can pretty much count them out at this point.
