Apparently in the midwest league the Burlington Bees were up 17-1 over the Clinton Lumberkings after 5, and now it's a 17-17 game in the 9th.

Burlington gave up a grand slam in the ninth that tied the game. That's our signature move too! lol

 

This game has to be setting records that hold for all of organized baseball history. Goodness me.

I can't believe that the A's keep running Barton out there. He was great a few years back but he hasn't done anything the MLB since 2010.

Clinton overcame an 8 run lead on the weekend too...with 5 in the 9th. Kyle and Corey's little brother drove in the tying run in both

What a mess in Texas. With the team crashing towards futility (2-8 in last 10, -33 run differential), the team just cleaned house:

 

Scott Baker and Josh Wilson DFAd

Rougned Odor and Luis Sardinas recalled (2 of their top prospects)

Joe Saunders to bullpen when he returns

Justin Germano recalled (watch him get lit up vs. either Colorado or Boston in the next few days.)

 

Gotta wonder if the noose is tightening on Ron Washington's job security, along with GM Jon Daniels (for making that awful Prince Fielder trade, which is looking horrid for Texas and great for Detroit, not adding a decent SP, and injuries.)

And the Rays are pathetic. Once again, their pitching doesn't get past 5 innings, and they can't score. Price trade rumors are likely going to fire up more soon..

Kenny Wilson has been DFAd by the Twins(to make room for Chris Parmalee and Aaron Hicks). Chance for Toronto to reclaim him.

 

Although three outfielders on the 25 man roster makes zero sense, six outfilelders on the 40 man roster is probably just fine.

And it's no wonder the Rays are 15-20. Expect fire sale talk to increase, with David Price, Ben Zobrist, James Loney, and possibly even Evan Longoria to be in trade rumors, as the Rays organization will be slashing payroll heavily if they're not going to contend.

And another sign of a potential fire sale.. Tampa's attendance continues to drop, at 18,337 per game. With the team in last place, expect their attendance to drop further.

Tampa 3rd last in attendance so far, ahead of Cleveland (wow their numbers are horrific) and White Sox.

 

I never like to underestimate the Rays but I think they might be be done with this run. Hard to imagine that they make the playoffs this year and they may not be able to even maintain the payroll they have. Especially if attendance drops in the second half.
