lmao Yankees.

Beltran should have been running harder there but with the difference in speed between him and Ellsbury it might still have happened if he was running hard.

Yankees are so used to NOT having speed, they don't know how to handle it now that one guy does, LOL..

(OK, maybe Garner too, call it two)

Are the Yankees the only team with worse roster management than the Jays? Their bench is in shambles. With the number of old and injury ridden players they have no way they should be going with a short bench.

No way, only the Jays have crappy backups.

And now Solarte is hurt! At the rate things are going, the Yanks are going to have to call up most of their SWB infield by Tuesday when they play the Cubs.

Where are you guys watching this game?

This is the second week in a row the Sunday night game isn't on TSN2! What's going on?

I have MLB.TV, though I hate using my bandwidth when the game should be on TV lol.

@Buster_ESPN: Solarte coming out to play the infield in the top of the seventh.

Basically because they have little choice, as neither Roberts or Jeter are available. Either they'd have to put Soriano at 2B, losing the DH, or put a pitcher in there to play a position.

Is it just me or does the Red Sox lineup lack depth without Pedroia and Victorino? Funny what a couple of injuries to regulars can do to a lineup.

It's also a shorter throw to 3rd and people are forgetting that's a mistake by Ellsbury, he was already in scoring position, if you go tag up, you have to make it. It's no different than stealing third with 2 outs.

Every team's lineup lacks depth these days. It's a new era.

I know, It's just that so many posters think that only the Jays are a couple of injuries away from being exposed.

Playoffs will be easy to make!

it entertains me that people actually reported you for this.

Hopefully the league parity (or parody) that I think we'll see most of the season will stop the "In the AL East" comments.

Joe Blanton had some absolutely gnarly xFIP - ERA gaps between 2010 and 2013.

RIP Joe.

AL East teams are all having injury issues. Hopefully the Jays can take advantage..

Boston without Dusty and losing Elsbury... is a very different team.

Red Sox manager John Farrell was upset about a play reversed by the umpires during Sunday night's game against the Yankees.

New York challenged a fairly bang-bang play at first base, and the replay, according to the umpires, showed Francisco Cervelli safe.

The reversal wasn't to Farrell's liking, especially considering the events of Saturday - where the league noted a call was incorrectly ruled during the afternoon's Yankees vs. Red Sox game.

After Farrell was ejected, he told the umpire exactly where he could put instant replay. You'll need your lip-reading glasses for this one. Or maybe not.

"You can shove it up your f***ing arse".

Amazing.

Holy s***. Good for him for calling it quits and not kicking around for another 3-4 years shuttling back and forth between AAA and the majors.

Now let the debate begin- is Blanton Hall of Fame material? Will his playing in the steroid era cost him votes?

Including this year, seven more years on Pujols' contract. He'll make $30M in seven years when he's 41 years old. Unbelievable.

The pieces are falling in place slowly for us. Someone already mentioned Boston isn't as strong as the last few years, the Rays pitching staff is dropping like flies and at the same time our rotation is looking like a pleasant surprise.

Colby is starting to come around, now we just need Reyes back and Edwin to get going (just a matter of time). If we can avoid having too many major injuries I think we can be very competitive in this division.

Having Walktista circa 2010-11 kicking around won't hurt things either.

How beautiful will it be to watch Tampa Bay fall of he rails with their pitching woes?

How beautiful will it be to see them pull some magic out of that yarmulke.

On one hand, the division actually does look kinda weak and the Jays have somewhat exceeded expectations, especially on defense. On the other hand, not one starter has shown the consistency of being a front-line/ace type pitcher and with less than 10% of the season having been played out, the MIF consists of Goins and Diaz with basically no other positional depth beyond that.
