G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Looks it's "everybody get a hit off Mujica" night
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Isn't that pretty much inevitable now though with each league having an odd number of teams. Not if you stagger the home openers. But yeah pretty tough.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Yep. Interleague has to be always going on. If you start with different opening days, some 3 game series and some 4 game series (which they do now anyway) you'd think you could make it work. Yes there has to be inter league every day but the home openers spread out over the first week could avoid it But probably not important enough to bother as far as MLB is concerned
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Detroit annihilated the Orioles 10-4. Miguel Gonzalez was terrible, giving up 7 ER (2 HRs) on 9 hits, and the bullpen coughed up 3 more. So far, all those acquisitions this offseason have not offset the O's crappy pitching. At the current rate, Gausman will be up sooner than later. Ryan Webb has a 15.43 ERA so far with the O's.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 And you wonder why the Cards replaced him with Rosenthal late in the season and in the playoffs.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 And you wonder why the Cards replaced him with Rosenthal late in the season and in the playoffs. Because Trevor Rosenthal is really really good?
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Pretty much. That, and he struggled late in the season (3.80 ERA, 1.479 WHIP in the 2nd half)
bzapple Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Juan Nicasio looking good for the Rockies in their home opener; Diamondbacks in danger of falling to 1-6.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I like all these arb deals. Reminds me of OOTP where I did a fantasy draft and drafted Harper, Correa, Buxton, Baez, Fernandez, Bradley, Russell, Zimmer, Sano, Puig. Was terrible the first year and drafted a similar calibre made up catching prospect. .500 the next year and then 110 W. Only Baez and Zimmer busted while everyone became all stars. Extended them all for 10/100 while they were still in arb. 7 straight 110 W seasons. (Also signed Kershaw, Votto and eventually Cole long term) So I'm not the only one who does this...hmm...
bzapple Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Holy s*** Carlos Gonzalez just hit a bomb, off the third deck. 8-1 Rockies. One of the best looking swings in baseball.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 How long until Kirk Gibson gets fired? His team is awful.
admin Site Manager Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 ^^That's pretty cool. My boy Heck is killing it once again! This guy is going to easily out WAR Reyes this year. Some sample size yeah yeah, but i think with his D and even an okay bat he should put up nice numbers.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Lol, Mariners - A's game called because some idiot didn't put the tarp on the field last night when it was raining.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Could we PLEASE beat up on weakened team for once??
admin Site Manager Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 Could we PLEASE beat up on weakened team for once?? No. You know what's going to happen, we think okay, they have some injured guys we should be able to win.... pitcher can't throw a strike and walks three in the first inning alone.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Buchholz looks a little off tonight. He's already given up HRs to Mark Reynolds and Carlos Gomez.
