G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 His agent must be very convincing. I personally side with guys who just want to play ball. Me too! Guy who is hungry to play and prove himself >>> guy who holds out for a few extra bucks
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Thought I'd mention our old friend Kelly Johnson, despite a decent bat in spring training, is butchering 3B quite a bit, with 5 errors this spring, including 2 tonight. No wonder scouts are considering the Yanks infield the worst in MLB defensively.. Only Texiara is.passable on defense. You guys all thought Jeter was bad before? You ain't seen nothing' yet. but he's Derek F'n Jeter so they'll let him play SS as long as he wants.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Padres sign Jeff Francouer. Sorry, whoever the f*** wanted him.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 MLBTR says Mariners might be willing to deal Franklin for a right hand hitter. Moises Sierra is a right handed hitter
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Padres have signed Francouer http://dlvr.it/5DsJcY
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 We don't have one of those. Well we do but they're either awesome (Edwin) or terrible (Sierra) Neither is an acceptable trade obviously
flafson Verified Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Sierra might be a good option for them, not sure where they stand with their corner outfielders.
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Does it look like Jack Z cares? Lol Does it look like AA cares about replacing our anemic hitting starting 2B?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) Sierra isn't close to an appropriate return for Nick Franklin. http://seattletimes.com/ABPub/2012/08/02/2018836674.jpg http://www2.cincinnati.com/blogs/sports/files/2013/07/delabar_730.jpg Edited March 26, 2014 by G-Snarls
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Does it look like AA cares about replacing our anemic hitting starting 2B? He does. The Kinsler trade that almost happened tells me so. And he said he was looking at trades for a younger guy 2B even after that fell through. Goins is gonna hit .210 and he knows it.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Traded for him in one of my dynasty leagues a month ago for this very reason. At worst he could make a great holds guy, but the SP potential is appealing from a low cost fantasy perspective. Grabbed Ross in the shark tank Vik and good thing . I've lost Parker , for the year , now Darvish and Sanchez is hurting .

flafson Verified Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 I like this one a lot: The guy in this article wants Bautista for Franklin, i think he's high.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Sierra isn't close to an appropriate return for Nick Franklin. I don't even think AA would do Sierra for Franklin straight up. That is the sad reality of our FO situation.
flafson Verified Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 lol, not even I think AA is that far gone. To be honest, Franklin is obviously a much better option with the bat compared with Goins but he's no where near Goins level on defense. It would probably be a good depth move so we could have both guys but i probably wouldn't deal Sierra unless it was for pitching.

Given our middle infield situation?
fireballW Verified Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 You just said he is out of options in your own post. We going to put him in our bullpen in the MLB to start this year?
flafson Verified Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 You wouldn't do Sierra for Franklin? Given our middle infield situation? I didn't say i wouldn't, i said i'd prefer to use him to get SP.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 I didn't say i wouldn't, i said i'd prefer to use him to get SP. Ok... Moises Sierra for Nick Franklin. Yes or No?
flafson Verified Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 You guys want to tell me that nobody in the league wants Sierra? I find it really hard to believe.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 You guys want to tell me that nobody in the league wants Sierra? I find it really hard to believe. Why would they? He's 25 and can't hit, field or run. What exactly is the appeal?
flafson Verified Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Why would they? He's 25 and can't hit, field or run. What exactly is the appeal? He can hit and has a good arm, that's it.
flafson Verified Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 He had 125 wRC+ in 122 PA's last year, i'm pretty sure he can either hit or shown enough that many teams will want him to prove he can hit. Either way, should be a good trade candidate to any team that is looking for righty bat corner outfield.
