I'm no detective, but my wild guess is S.Santos was headed to #Rangers in 3-tm Craig Gentry deal, w/Brett Anderson coming to #Jays.

Anderson fail physical?

AA's comments regarding Fister indicate Dombrowski had a hard-on for one or more of the players he traded him for. Sometimes when people get tunnel vision there is no coming back.

I know, but I just don't trust what AA says.

This would have been acceptable.

After Janssen, Santos is probably the most ideal of the big-4 to be dealt. He gets expensive next year ($6 million) and has a 750K buyout. I'd like to see both moved.

Oh yeah, I've said all along, I'd move both, that's like 7M in payroll space depending on what type of salary would be coming back of course. If the guy coming back was indeed Anderson, it would be a 4M increase in payroll for next year. Of course, the guy could've been on the DL all year also but so could Santos. Anyway, at least some good signs.

Imagine if he wasn't made out of glass... then we would have had him two weeks ago!

Makes sense. I would be OK w/ that deal.

This is the exact deal that I assumed they were talking about, the Gentry one. Though I'd have much preferred to be the ones landing Gentry. Don't care much at all for bringing in another china doll into the rotation to take a spot away from Hutch/Drabek/Happ. We still have no idea what those guys are worth and if they can put it together.

Fatcow, the starter for reliever deal is only good if the starter can actually throw more innings than the reliever.

You think Anderson can't out pitch Santos?

Not sure if it was posted, but did anyone see this?

Possible the Rangers were targeting Kemp and Santos?

Something like:

Rangers: Kemp (Dodgers), Santos (Blue Jays)

Dodgers: Ogando (Rangers), Scheppers (Rangers)

Blue Jays: Dee Gordon (Dodgers) or maybe since was reported SP: Josh Beckett?

With Kemp failing the physical?

You're a good writer but.................suck as a speculator.

Yep. And it's one of the things that makes him a worse GM.

I don't understand what Carroll in saying in that poorly constructed sentence

Edit: Oh, now I get it - teams that were interested in Kemp are now out (no longer interested) due to problems identified on his medical reports. Now I get it.

I'm dying to know who we were (presumably) going to be getting from the Dodgers Edited by G-Snarls

He's still on our team

I can't decide which of the big 3 is my least favorite (GD King Fatcow).

What the hell do we do with a player who we basically told is getting traded, but now is still on the team?

It's business. He may play for us in 2014 and if he's a professional he'll be OK with that. Also very possible AA trades him to someone else.

He stays! We tell him to suck it up lol, he probably gets moved tho, he can probably draw interest

I don't see Santos as the type of guy to make a fuss. The guy is a professional.

If the same thing happened to an Arencibia, a Brandon Phillips, or a David Price, however...
