G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 Will delete thread if this is quashed Someone please quash it We need Edwin more than any another player in this team
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 Grantland: - One rumor making the rounds has the Jays mulling a blockbuster deal featuring Toronto slugger Edwin Encarnacion and Rays ace David Price. Realistically, though, Toronto has gone too far down the road of adding veterans and trying to win now to justify trading one of the best power hitters in the game, even though starting pitching needs to be the team's top priority. Fortunately, the current starting pitching market allows for a possible middle-ground approach. There are still several B-plus starters there for the taking, including Ervin Santana, Ubaldo Jimenez, and Matt Garza. Garza is particularly intriguing, given that he's only 30 years old, has years of experience pitching in the rough AL East, and is the only one of these three pitchers who won't cost the signing team a compensatory draft pick. On the other hand, Garza made just 42 combined starts over the past two seasons, and his only dominant season came in 2011 in the lower run environment of the NL Central.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Edwin is the new version of Pujols. Price decline
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Would trade EE for Cobb, but not Price. Ew to both.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 HEY EVERYONE, lets trade our best player to address our biggest need! HERRRRRP DERP
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Oh my f***ing Christ. Please just fire AA before he does this. Why is AA even having discussions with Friedman? Maybe Friedman gets AA to toss in Stroman in the deal as well.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 I want to think no way AA considers this But I fear he's still fantasizing about pulling his own "McGriff and Fernandez for Carter and Alomar" He thought he had done it last year with Miami but that didn't work out so well

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 While we're at it, why don't we sell our house to buy a car?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 Just for shits and giggles would there be a better 2-3-4 in baseball than Myers Encarnacion Longoria ??? Yeah I think we'd regret facing THAT 18 times a year
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 How can everyone immediately write this off without knowing any of the particulars?
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 How can everyone immediately write this off without knowing any of the particulars? Because Friedman always ends up on top it seems and the last year and a half have me seriously doubting AA. That's why I am already writing it off.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Why is AA even having discussions with Friedman? Maybe Friedman gets AA to toss in Stroman in the deal as well. Oh, that's a given. I'm just wondering if Friedman gets AA to toss Lawrie, Rasmus, and Sanchez in on top of that.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 No no no Just spend some $$$ #SaveEdwinFromStupidity
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Unless it's Zobrist and Price (and it isn't) for Edwin we don't need the specifics. It's also AA dealing with TB which virtually guarantees a loss in trade.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 How can everyone immediately write this off without knowing any of the particulars? How can anyone immediately assume this will happen? People do both around here, including me on occasion. From a personal perspective, I have a hard time believing AA would put that big a dent in the offense to try to help the pitching unless he has another move lined up as well (like signing Hart perhaps). Regardless, until a more concrete rumor comes along, I'll chalk this up to a bored journalist.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I don't see how so but, to each their own I guess Terminator.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Reyes - Choo - JB - Edwin? ""Blue Jays still more likely to pursue trades than free agent signings per AA. Could pursue FA starters in January if prices drop"" NO dinero amigo, no dinero
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Choo just makers way too much in the 2-slot for AA to not pursue him. Of course he's a Boras client and top tier free agent so the Jays wont even consider it.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 1. Trade EE for Price 2. Trade Sanchez for Kemp 3. Trade Stroman for Phillips 4. Profit!! Annnnnnnd my eyes are bleeding JFaS
