Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Yes I know there is a "Josh Johnson qualifying offer thread" allready. In my humble opinion this board has to few threads. I've noticed lately people seem gun shy about posting new threads given the reactionary "not thread worthy bro" they could get. I didn't build this place (thanks to those who did) so I have no problems with the direction... as long as that is the direction the founders envisioned. But really?? No "Josh Johnson signs with Sandiego" thread???? People often scan the topics to see if anything new happened, or anything interesting is being discussed. It's now reached the stage where the topic list is almost the same all the time, and it is impossible to tell if anything interesting is happening or not.
TBJ12 Verified Member Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 It's because there was already a place to discuss the signing without making a new thread. It doesn't seem like you made this thread to talk about Johnson. It seems like you made it to whine about it being discussed somewhere else. I don't understand why some people get so upset about a new thread being started, these are two different topics, why not have two threads? Pro tip: if you want MLB News, The Blue Jays Message Board is not the place to go. Sign up for a twitter account and follow Ken Rosenthal. Lol.

GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 It's a message board. Why do you care so much. I'd personally rather see and read a thread about Josh Johnson signing with the Padres instead of ever jumping into the Around Baseball thread and pouring through a huge discussion meandering in different directions about everything.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Sure...I guess you could call it that. Except that the trade was already being discussed in another thread about Johnson. The Qualifying offer thread?
TBJ12 Verified Member Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/1624-Josh-Johnson-qualifying-offer-thread Yup. What does the qualifying offer thread have to do with Johnson signing with the Padres? New threads will bring new traffic and new opinions, this isn't a bad thing.

Besides having to click on and read the new posts why would I go to that thread thinking Josh Johnson signed?
TBJ12 Verified Member Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 IMO his point was valid. Some posters around here (you included) love to jump on people for starting a new thread.
TBJ12 Verified Member Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 This guy is butthurt because he always gets jumped on for creating threads like the following: http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/1517-Stoeten-quot-Life-is-bloody-complicated-quot I've seen some of his threads. My point is real news and signings deserve their own thread. s*** like the thread in the link you posted doesn't belong.

If you're not one of the power users who read every-single post... it's a lot easier w/ a new thread then having to scroll threw a huge thread to find where the applicable topic begins and ends.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 It was clearly thread worthy..minus the douchebaggery though. I wouldn't have clicked on the old thread not knowing he was signed
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 It sucks trying to get these American star players to want to play here and have a great attitude about it. What? American players have nothing to do with the fact that AA is incompetent and routinely gets bent over in trades.
