I really don't understand why they haven't adopted a posting system like the japanese . Cuban baseball could be as lucrative as them .

I don't think companies or individuals in the states are allowed to transfer money to Cuba, which would nix the posting concept. Could be wrong though.

Cuba is as pure of communism as you can find in the world, that means government owns everything and people don't own anything.

People can go to work or stay home 24/7 and still get the same rations/housing as everyone else.

That is why when you travel across Cuba you will see that the most popular sport in Cuba is to sit outside your home and watch tourist buses pass by.

Is there anywhere online that you can watch the whole Cespedes audition video?

Weird, like that one in Around Baseball.... "nelly cruz to seattle details to follow" that was last week, lol.

And what about that "MLB to announce suspension" imminently or whatever on the 8WAR Dominican player. Best/worst thread ever. LOL

It's Ang, best to just let some posts sit there

25 Millions for a guy who can't hit.

The Dodgers are trying to extend Hanley and now they have: Hanley SS-3B, Uribe 3B, Guerrero SS-2B, Arruebarruena SS-2B.

This makes me wonder, if you guys knew what Chapman would become, and knew exactly how much he'd produce, would you give him a $100M contract? Disregard the fact that it would never need to take that much, just wondering what people think he's worth. This is also assuming he primarily be used the same way he has in actuality, as a reliever.

I was down with it until that part.

I think it's a lot easier to give him 100M if you're going to play him as a starter. My curiosity is based on if anyone thinks they could actually give a 100M contract to a reliever, even if he is as excellent and elite as Chapman. I honestly don't know if I could, but I don't know if I wouldn't either.

Depends on your budget I suppose. If I'm not the Yankees or the Dodgers than I can't justify putting that much money on a reliever. No matter how good Chapman is, there are better places to put that kind of money.

I was expected maybe like 10K a year or something.

Not 300 bucks.

Everyone makes the same in Cuba East. Doctors don't make much more than a teacher. I had a tour bus guide who was a doctor and she told me because of tips she made way more as a guide . everyone wants to work in the tourism industry . When you go to Cuba , you take tons of stuff and leave it there . Advil , toothbrushes , cosmetics , they love you when you do that
