That's cute, you say that like he'll ever play in the majors again. At least Norfolk is only about 800 miles from Nashville.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't he 3rd on their depth chart? Wieters coming off of TJS, he's probably fine but still injuries happen. I would say he will see time in the majors eventually. Baltimore also seemed comfortable giving Delmon Young time in the OF, probably a pretty similar (not as bad, but you get the idea) player.

Was a painful game for me (although it was probably the drunkest I've been for an opener), this was before I'd completely turned my back on the org...but JPA playing well would have been a shot at my prospect cred. Although I think it was 2011

Ya it probably was 2011. I still thought JPA was going to be a star at that time, said things that day that I'll regret forever.

Opening day 2012 was a good memory. JPA hit 2 bombs, it might be the most enjoyable game I've seen in person. Season was all downhill from there though.

He was Mr. Debut. First game in the majors he hit 2 jacks and a double I think. Then he hit a bomb in Cleveland 17th inning in 2012 opening day IIRC. He also hit 2 HR (maybe 1?) in the 2011 opening day. There were times where we thought his bat might be enough, until we realized he would never improve his OBP. Don't lie, at one point you liked his bat, it just depends how early you gave up on him.

Just to add, I do really dislike him still lol

JPA retired from the game in MLB the Show in 2016.

In my OOTP 15 game, JP retired in 2022 but didn't get much MLB playing time after 2014. Hit a couple home runs in 7 PA for the Marlins in 2019.

I love the last line

“A couple of options were in the AL East, and I really enjoyed playing in the AL East. Obviously,” said Arencibia. “I think it’s an unbelievable division, and it’s a lot of fun.”

He speaks as if he will actually be playing in the majors this year.............J.P, you can still make me cachinnate.

Imagine if Ricky Romero had JPA's confidence. Dynamite player

He "did". Why do you think he's so bad now? He got dumped by Miss America, and is now engaged to some ugly (in comparison) blonde girl... you'd be unable to pitch too if that happened to you.

Why does the truth hurt so much? People can't handle the truth. YOU can't handle the truth.

Yeah, no... That chick is hotter than anyone you've even been close enough to smell...

Does this mean he plans on playing with 12 year olds again?

No, he plans on playing LIKE a 12 year old.

While watching the Cardinals/Orioles game last night I had the pleasure of educating my brother about JPA. He loved his 140K/18BB ratio during JPA's top 10 catcher season.

Chill out guy. I'd trade my job for a minor league job without even a second thought.

What was JPA's biggest flaw actually? Bat speed? Poor eye? General idiocy?

His baseball intelligence didn't allow him to take advantage of his talent, and he did have talent.

The Blue Jays even have a better record than the Dodgers now. It's time to come home, BTS.

I don't think I really have the capacity to get emotionally attached to a sports team anymore.
