You guys aren't going to like this, but the more and more research I do and video I watch, JPA was clearly an above average framer this year. Apparently Fasano worked extensively with him in the offseason and he improved greatly. He was well below average before and now he is above average. In a lot of the video I watched this year, he shows almost impeccable mechanics, no return glove movement (Doumit's specialty) and he only drops his head a little bit now.

Maybe I'm wrong but in that clip it looks like JP stabs at the ball a bit and really it's just a horrid call by the umpire.

Old method...

New method: My new product is more expensive, for that reason I try to convince you that the old s*** you're eating is s*** and you should buy from me the new drugs.

I'm not talking high end users. I'm talking junkies that will use whatever they can get their hands on.

Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 13 Nov

Rival exec: #BlueJays' Anthopoulos targeting starting pitching, "itching" to make a trade.

I'd just like to point out that that isn't possible unless he's in some random time zone.

I'd love it if u could do a side by side clip of JP and yadier Molina to compare.

He didn't say JP was one of the best framers. Just above average. There were stats showing this throughout the season. He made improvements. His bat just is so putrid that he's not really serviceable. I still think he might do ok in another org with better coaching. Nothing great but a ML C

That's what he tweeted last year. When the marlins trade started breaking. Damn it's been a year already

Lol I just said the same thing haha. But you are right. Pretty much word for word as well. Crazy

Yup. Things are actually pretty dire. A 75-80 win team with no farm depth, no expendable major leaguers outside the pen, and presumably very little payroll flexibility.

I know it is bad , hell pretty bad but you are all doom and gloom and NO it is not 138 . It is between 132 and 134 depending on arb awards . Dumping JPA gets it close to 130.

An NO this is not a 75 win team with health. Morrow healthy and giving us 33 starts , Lawrie and Reyes and Bautista all playing 150 plus games . Dickey healthy enough to have his velocity. Melky healthy and actually being able to run .

You are one of the most knowledgeable posters on this board , that is a given but your constant doom and gloom ,sky is falling s*** gets old at times. Exaggerating the bad and not even admitting there are some positives gets old Stache.

Sherman:

Colorado made a two-year offer with an option believed to be worth roughly $16 million to Carlos Ruiz. But they were told he has a two-year, $20 million deal on the table, which if it is the case means he will not play for the Rockies. Philadelphia wants to retain Ruiz, but several executives believe the Blue Jays could push hard for the veteran.

Chisolm, MLB.com:

It is early in the process, but Anthopoulos said that the Jays are already having dialogue on both the trade and free-agent fronts.

"We need to make the rotation better," he said. "I think that any way we can, we'll look to do that. It could be a trade where one starter is going and another is coming in. If that's one starter, two, three, four -- the likelihood of adding that many, I don't know, but we'll definitely look into it."

Anthopoulos told the Toronto Sun that he has been given the green light to spend more than the $119 million that the Jays used on payroll last season, which comes as welcome news.

Happ out, mediocre SP in

Happ, Pillar, Janssen out, good SP in.

Janssen will stay, he's like a God to AA (Ace reliever).

Happ + Pillar + Sierra for Niese

Just cause I don,t think it is as bad as the Stache says doesn't,t mean it isn,t bad . I just disagree with his 75 win team with health.

I agree with almost everything he posts. Little on the farm, and only BP pieces to trade .Good news Is AA seems to suggest he has more money than I expected. Maybe Spanky is right and he has 165 mil.

So give Ruiz the 2/20 and start the off season signing on a great note.

It's not as doom and gloom as many are trying to paint Ken. This team is in a questionable spot right now, but it can be fixed with some savvy moves. As for payroll, I have been saying for quite some time I expect it to see a big jump and I still stand by that.

If AA does indeed have the money that I think he does, he will be active on the FA market, plus dealing some excess BP pieces and signing some key short term pieces like a Ruiz for example could set this team up in a better position moving forward. I still have some faith in AA even if most want him gone. This will be his make or break year and it will probably end in epic fashion one way or the other.
