TO be fair, if he'd chosen football, he'd probably be as roided up as they all are and would fit in just fine. Guys like Lawrie could probably have chosen any sport they wanted and played at a high level.

I wonder why people just throw things out like he's dumb...maybe they feel inferior to his athletic abilities so they have to make assumptions about other aspects of his life so they feel superior than him in some other way. He's an intense character with a ton of bravado and a short fuse but nothing I have seen would make me consider him dumb. Unless you shared a math class with him, you don't really have much evidence to comment on his intelligence one way or the other.

Yeah...something like that first pic...I'll admit pic #2 isn't bad. Danielle Lawrie can be described with adjectives and superlatives that would be considered complementary if talking about a man, not so much when talking about a woman.

There's nothing wrong with the young man as a ballplayer, he just needs to be told now and again.

 

amazing athlete, but the whole concept of team is not always there. if he is kept in line he could be one of the best, but he has the mental focus of a gnat at times. tight reigns and the occasional trip to the principals office is what he needs.

Lawrie needs to be kept on a short leash. team should ban him and most of the rest of the team from social media and keep them focused on the field. they can twitter all they want during the off season.

 

Lawrie is gifted physically, but they need to keep his mental side focused as much as possible.

I agree with you. I don't think he's selfish. I just think his incredible enthusiasm is a bit blind at times and his baseball IQ is lacking. Needs the right coaching. But he's a team player.

CM had gotten Lawrie on the right track with the bat last year. I really hope that can carry to next year. his extra energy is a plus on D, but can kill him with the bat if he cant keep it in check.

His baseball IQ is just fine, as you eluded to, he needs to tone it down, that'll come with age and maturity.

 

I do think the IQ is a bit of a problem. Base running in wrong situations and ill advised throws sometimes. I suppose you can say that's just over enthusiastic too. Either way it's a problem.
