I would rather target cole kalhoun

 

If we're going to overpay in cash for someone I would rather it be for Cliff Lee or equivalent. Rather that than take a bad contract of a player we don't even want in order to get one other player that we actually do want. (Ie. I'm not taking Josh Beckett just to get Adrian Gonzales)

Also his excellent AAA numbers. There's a pretty good chance that Calhoun's bat is legitimately above-average.

If not for injury, Cooper would have projected to be a slightly above avg bat. Which makes him pretty useless on the whole since he plays 1B poorly.

 

A great wise man even once said Cooper had a .800 OPS floor.

 

120 for Calhoun does surprise me a bit, but I don't think it's egregious.
