EdelweissBouquet Verified Member Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Two 3-0 games and three 1-0 games makes for boring entertainment to the casual fans that are not emotionally invested in those teams. These games will most certainly not bring new fans into the fold. I love baseball, but sheeeesh, what a snorefest. Let's go bluejays ! Bring back the glory days ! Well, maybe just one meaningful game in september will suffice for now.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 The low scoring in these playoffs doesn't surprise me. Baseball's offense has been trending down lately and we seem to be entering a pitcher dominated era again. You get to the cooler weather of October and the good pitching teams that are left...
Gen.Disarray Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Umm who cares? f*** the casuals, they can buy all the foam fingers they want during the regular season. The playoffs are for the hardcores anyways. These playoffs have been amazing. The tension is palpable and every pitch matters so much
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Ya tight games absolutely suck where are all the high scoring blow outs to really get fans into it. I have loved the ALCS and NLCS so far. Very entertaining baseball.
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 you're right, i am bored. whatever happened to the days where players would get clutch 2 out game tying grand slams in the 8th? those were the days
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Casual fans never watch the playoffs unless their team is playing.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 All that matters is that games are close, and they have been. This
EdelweissBouquet Verified Member Posted October 17, 2013 Author Posted October 17, 2013 All that matters is that games are close, and they have been. And it's not like the pitchers have been getting lucky with the BABIP dragons. They're legitimately crushing it. If the jays were in a 1-0 game, it would be riveting, but not caring who wins I'd like to see either a no hitter,or the lead change hands a few times.Take the 2004 AL champ series, now that was the best ever series for me entertainment wise, since I was only 11 during the bluejays championship years it didn't quite have the same impact. No series since that has come close, with the intense rivalry, the long red sox drought, and winning 4 straight after losing the 1st 3..that was a series for the ages. Hollywood couldn't have written a better script.
