G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Weird What prompted this? I missed it.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Maybe they criticized him after he sucked yesterday?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 Wow, he really went off last night. Look at this stuff:
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 (edited) Jesus christ. If I was a star athlete I would so NOT be on Twitter. Nothing good can really come of it and anyone has a limit beyond which they'll go off like this an make themselves look like an ass. Edited October 6, 2013 by G-Snarls
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 Nothing on Twitter about it from Hayhurst and Verducci. Must have been from the TV broadcast last night. Anyone see??
bzapple Verified Member Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Was he hacked/drunk or is he always this immature?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 Was he hacked/drunk or is he always this immature? No idea. Always seemed like a decent guy. He's pissy on the mound sometimes when he doesn't get strike calls, but lots of guys are.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Wow, he really went off last night. Look at this stuff: Lack of class.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 Maddon will not be pleased Don't let them get in to your head Don't show signs of weakness Shut your mouth and win the next game
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 I bet JP Arencibia is loving this...

TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 posturing for a spot in JPA's wedding party...he had two strikes against him being a Vandy guy at a Vols wedding and of course being not white. He had to go drastic.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 I didn't realize Hayhurst was working for TBS. Me neither. Must be a new thing. Rosenthal posted a pic last night of the TBS broadcast desk and Hayhurst was one of 4 at it.
baseballsss Verified Member Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 I didn't realize Hayhurst was working for TBS. Don't they usually try to get other teams broadcasters that aren't in the playoffs a part of the playoffs?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 Don't they usually try to get other teams broadcasters that aren't in the playoffs a part of the playoffs? Yes. Especially first round when there can be 4 games in a day, and they have a single national broadcast for each one. Buck has been one of three voices in the Oakland Detroit series.
admin Site Manager Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Like to know what was said, someone must have seen it. As if he'd get bothered with what someone said though lol.
torontofan Verified Member Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 I don't understand why the MLB doesn't fine players for stuff like this. If you look at other leagues (NHL, NFL, CFL) they get fined for inappropriate social media interaction.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Hayhurst was on the Rays during spring training in 2011. I think Derosa is also on the TBS broadcast team.
Convo Verified Member Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Wow, he really went off last night. Look at this stuff: What a douchebag.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 What a douchebag. Meh.. I understand where its coming from. So i wouldnt call him a douchbag. Ordinary people that talk s*** to a celeb dying for a response are pretty douchey.... But unbecoming of an athlete/celeb for sure. Needs more self esteem apparently

If you look at other leagues (NHL, NFL, CFL) they get fined for inappropriate social media interaction. The players are stuck between a rock and a hard place. MLB encourages players to be active in Social media. But when they are and fans berate them and act like the loogans, the players are supposed to sit back and not say anything? IMO, I don't think so. I'm glad players give it back to fans.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Price probably had no idea was they even said. It's not like he was watching on TV. Athletes go off about stuff they didn't read/hear/see all the time. Apparently, Dirk critiqued a pitch selection that Verducci defended and Price is calling everyone nerd like he's a jock in a high school movie. http://www.awfulannouncing.com/2013/october/tampa-bay-s-david-price-calls-out-tbs-nerds.html
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 This article has a quote from Hayhurst: http://larrybrownsports.com/baseball/david-price-nerds-dirk-hayhurst-tom-verducci/206270 “This is the playoffs, you can’t take any chances. He was out there past his prime. He should’ve come out sooner.” If that's the worst of it...
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Lol what a dumbass... lucky for him he has talent and isn't a f***ing scrub like JPA.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 I don't agree with anyone being censored although I acknowledge MLB has the right to do so. I think looking like a fool to hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of people is a big penalty and can teach them a lesson.
baubau Verified Member Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Apologizing: Awesome. Its the playoffs and Price looks like he knew he let the team down. Understandable he was upset. Happens to the best of us when emotions run high. He has apologized which is something that isn't done by all athletes. With that being said, I agree with BTS. They need to start handing out fines for situations like this.
