fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Hello all! I'm your friendly neighborhood GDT maker and I wanna know how you guys want me to make the GDTs for this years postseason! What are you games are you guys interested in? Personally I'm going to follow most of the postseason (Go A's!) but I'm stumped as to how the GDTs will be made. Do you guys want one GDT of all games per day, or on giant GDT per series (I'll update the matchups/lineups as we go)? Do you want AL and NL only threads or a mix? Do you guys want some sort of separate daily wrapup threads too (as in Highlights, box scores, and WPA graphs) or have them embedded in the specific game thread? Will you guys watch the first Rangers/Rays tiebreaker? Hell, will you guys even watch this years postseason enough to require GDTs? I know these are tonnes of questions, but I just want to just maximize your GDT experience . Also on a side note is there anything you guys want me to change about my normal GDTs that I make? Something to add/remove/expand? I'll read it all! Thank ya!
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Just make a GDT for all the games each day. Ignore the lineups and extra info, and just include some general stuff (pitching matchups and anything else interesting)
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I expect just about all the frequent posters to be watching tomorrow's game, especially since it's on MLBTV. Too poor I'll be watching on VIPbox though lol
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 It may even be free!! All of today's games were free on MLB.TV so I imagine tomorrow's will be too. http://i.qkme.me/3smm2m.jpg

I'll keep the lineups and I'll just provide the facts that are need-to-know I expect just about all the frequent posters to be watching tomorrow's game, especially since it's on MLBTV. Then interest may slowly tail off until the WS. I'd have a thread for each of the WC games and tomorrow's tiebreaker and then one for each full round after that (Division Series, Championship Series, World Series). I'll be cheering for A's over Pirates in the WS, with the Indians and Dodgers making the LCS. Nice! A's >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Perfect, thanks for the suggestion!
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 GDT for every game... no slacking off.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Great! Thanks for the suggestion! I'll keep the lineups and I'll just provide the facts that are need-to-know The lineups are great if they're possible, but with some games starting at 7est and some at 10est the late game lineups may not be posted before the early games start.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2013 Author Posted September 30, 2013 GDT for every game... no slacking off. lol I'm trying to provide maximum enjoyment without me dying It really comes down to you fatcow, we're all going to be watching. Either just let this run on and update or do one for everygame.......which I think is redundant. We'll know who we're talking about as the day passes. We'll all respond regardless, sorry for the edit my r button sucks, REAL bad, lol. What about a daily GDTs? I can reserve x amount of posts before the game (like reserve 4 posts if its 4 games that day) and I'll have the info at least 1 hour before the game starts The lineups are great if they're possible, but with some games starting at 7est and some at 10est the late game lineups may not be posted before the early games start. I can have reserved posts which I can update when the lineups come out. I think lineups also come out faster during the postseason vs. regular season too so that will help the timing.

bzapple Verified Member Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 One comprehensive GDT per day is the way to go. If you start flooding the board with multiple GDTs at the same time it will just get confusing and people will respond less.
TBJ12 Verified Member Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I agree with bzapple. One GDT for each day would be great. Having a GDT for every game is too much confusion and having just 1 GDT for the entire playoffs make it difficult to follow.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Looks like the game is on Sportsnet today as well, in case anyone wasn't sure.
