Of course not, Miguel Cabrera is one of the best hitters I've ever seen. Is Donaldson close to him due to the fact that he's a much better defender and baserunner? Absolutely. You need a good defender at third, though and Detroit's constant disregard for good defense is probably the biggest reason why they under perform almost every year.

So you agree with me, but you still find a way to attack. Donaldson is nowhere near as good as Cabrera they're not even in the same discussion. Now Trout is on the same legendary level but he still has a ways to go. Donaldson is forgettable, good not great and will probably regress a lot.
