Good god are the Chargers loading up on D. Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa off the edge, Joseph-Day and Johnson to help with their bad run D and JC Jackson who is overrated as hell but still pretty good as long as he isn't covering Diggs.

AFC West is stacked. Gonna be a slugfest and the Chiefs are gonna have a hard time securing the 1 seed

Packers should look at signing Hooper on the cheap (after he was cut by the Browns today)

Yes, absolutely agree, was thinking of a pass rusher last week, forget his name, starts with an H???

Packers deal D.Adams to the Raiders? WTF.

This FO sure knows how to piss off Aaron Rodgers. Think they'll fail to draft a WR (or 2) again this year just to show him who's boss? I hear there's another below average blocking TE to be had in the 3rd round this year that will be tough to pass up on.

“The Packers were willing to match what the Raiders are giving Adams with his new deal, but Adams preferred to play elsewhere, a source told ESPN's Rob Demovsky. The Packers had used the franchise tag on Adams earlier this month”

I don’t really know the Packers behind the scenes, but I probably wouldn’t bet that Rodgers was totally pissed about it.

I just read that Rodgers knew Adams would never play for the Packers again when he signed his deal. Fingers crossed for another Diggs/Jefferson situation again in a very deep WR draft.

Baker Mayfield situation- not sure how I feel about it. Is he a crybaby to request a trade after the team very openly pursued D. Watson?

I actually think they will go QB at 22 and then let the Bills take Chris Olave and then grab future gadget guy Treylon Burks.

Also, are we pretending that Rodgers isn't constantly pissed off?

I don't like Baker Mayfield and I think he sucks dicks. However, the Browns are absolutely in the wrong here. Some NFL commentator said that the Browns wanted an open relationship with Baker, but only for them. So funny how they tricked everyone into thinking they weren't a complete dumpster fire for like a year.

I share the opinion Mayfield is a clear 2nd rate QB. They had some loaded teams that underperformed, or outright flopped. Yeah he was injured most of last year, but he’s had a pretty good sample size in the league now. So I can see how the Browns would look to upgrade there. It’s a business and he’s an asset. That’s the cold side of things. If they don’t find a deal that makes them better there, I can understand them not wanting to blow it up at QB for next year.

So that’s the other side. I can get both sides. A lot of Bakers side is that he’s a media darling, former #1 pick, etc. I’m not sure Ryan T from Titans for example would get as much sympathy

The issue isn't them wanting to upgrade on Baker. The issue is that they can openly explore for that upgrade and then say "jk lol", expect Baker to be ok with that when he has a future to worry about and then tell him that they won't trade him. I get that the Browns are under no obligation to trade Mayfield, but I also think it's total ******** that they can go ahead and try to upgrade, openly, embarrassing their "franchise QB" and then expect him to give 100% for a team that clearly doesn't want him. Imo, if you're exploring a trade to replace your QB, you better commit to that. The Browns are trash and I will forever laugh at the PFF chuds who had them as the best team evar prior to 2021.

I’m not totally trashing your argument, just saying a lot of players go through this s*** at trade deadlines and stuff. In all sports. From the human side of things, it’s sucks. I mean, that’s the cold side of things but also nobody is making Jacoby Ellsbury out to be the villain when he’s going to the bank to cash his check

Plus the way that Baker just did it, the asking price is probably going to take a hit. That makes it tougher to swallow losing him. Idk. Tough spot

Any professional sports team shouldn't do that. You don't treat your franchise players like that. Pretty bush league if you ask me. Nothing wrong with the Browns looking for an upgrade at QB, but they shouldn't be out in the open like it was. Now they weren't able to get Watson, it completely backfires since you have a disgruntled Mayfield who likely won't give a 100% and now demanding a trade.

The right way to go about it like how the Raptors traded DeRozan for Leonard. Masai never went out in the media and made it known that the Raptors were openly exploring for an upgrade over DeRozan. He made the trade without DeRozan knowing anything. Imagine if it got out the Raps were open to trading for Leonard by dangling DeRozan and the trade never happens? You for sure would have a pissed off DeRozan demanding a trade after as well.

I can buy that if they were public about it. I didn’t follow the details. If it leaked, then it’s different. Also Baker could’ve kept his trade request private too. That would’ve made the process a little smoother.

Holy f***, what an unbelievably stupid contract for a guy who might get suspended for a lengthy amount of time. 230 million and ALL of it is guaranteed.

Well, at least the Browns have a good QB for the first time ever.

I wonder what a team will give up for Baker. At least 1 1st rounder I’d imagine? Maybe?

I dunno, but this Watson stuff is not going over well with Browns fans. They are all jumping ship to join us. This is wild. Browns fan sites are shutting down, people are cancelling their season tickets, no doubt they start losing advertisers. The scumbags even structured the contract to guard against a year 1 suspension.

It baffles me that Watson won't face charges. He didn't deny any of the allegations, just that they were consensual...in an environment that I would not consider the woman able to refuse to consent. You know..."the implication". Like, imagine being some massage therapist on IG (wtf? Red flag #1, not using actual RMTs) and Deshaun Watson asks you to come down to provide your services. Then he pulls his dick out. Just you and him. Gonna say no? This all changes if the sexual acts were agreed to beforehand but I have not heard that argued. You know I'm rarely one of these types to get on my soapbox and white knight but this is one of the most clear cut cases of sexual abuse I've ever heard. On top of that, guys like him wanting an actual massage would have a go to, probably on the Texans' staff, not 22 different randos you don't know. Who needs that many massages in that period of time anyway?

Oh man. You’re changing before your daughter is out of diapers. Not saying that’s a bad thing. But yes, if DW whips his dick out, you can absolutely say no. Feeling pressured to have sex isn’t a criminal matter. Even if you don’t yell “no”, there has to be some kind of communication you’re not ok with things. Say if a guy invites you back to his apartment. He’s thinking he’s getting laid, girl may not think so. Have to communicate it somehow. You have a boss that puts you in a tough spot where you may feel like you’d lose out on promotion. Still have to communicate no somehow and try to get them fired for putting you in that spot. But it’s not criminal. So same with DW. Sleazy? Sure. Criminal? No. And Grand Jury agreed

Posted

But I think in general, you highlight the kind of situation where DW doesn’t think he did anything wrong, and the girl did.

DW is thinking, I’m D f***ing W, this girl wants my nads. The girl is thinking, I’m intimidated by this big black guy and I’m just going to have sex even if I really don’t want to. It’s a sleazy situation for the guy but not something you can put someone away for rape for. Has to be more than that. Maybe you could say unfortunately

Believe me, I haven't changed. Look, you're a petit woman who offers massage services...on Instagram. Ok, kinda weird but whatever, you're not advertising that you dole out rub and tugs. Famous athlete Deshaun Watson hits you up to fly you in for a massage. You end up alone, in a room with him, perform your services and then as you finish and he's naked, he solicits you for a blow job or sex. You consider your options, and though you feel gross, doing what he wants seems to be the obvious easy way out.

Criminal? I dunno. But it's similar to the Louis CK situation, though what Louis did wasn't nearly as bad. I just don't feel like consent can reasonably be given in that situation. I have no problem if Watson wants to bang all his masseuses, but that arrangement needs to be agreed to beforehand. Springing it on them in that situation, especially considering he did it TWENTY TWO times, tells me he knew exactly what he was planning to get after each massage but never bothered to let her know. Is that too much to ask? I don't think it is.

And all of this would still be hearsay except for the fact that his lawyers admitted to all of this. I am always going to land on the side of innocent until proven guilty unless you open your dumb mouth and admit to it.

Check on my previous thoughts regarding this: The number of accusers in regards to Watson didn't matter (especially since the sleazebag lawyer who was buds with the Texans' owner was actively recruiting accusers) until Watson's lawyers made the admission. At that point, the number matters as a sign of a pattern of behaviour in terms of misleading women into what services he's actually seeking.

Oh, and addressing your point with the inviting a girl to your apartment thing, I feel like the implication of sex is pretty standard. I'm not saying celebrities aren't more susceptible to false accusations: look at what's happening to Dave Portnoy. He has sex with a girl, finds out she's a loon in talking with her afterwards, she sleeps on the couch, then an investigative "journalist" looking for smear material finds her and all of a sudden, the sex wasn't consensual. I totally get that this type of ******** happens. There are just too many red flags with Watson.
