flafson Verified Member Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Gruber's obsession with Goins should be featured on My Strange Addiction, it's that severe. It's more about the 20 vs 2 which makes Gruber defend him harder. Obsession? I'm more into cheering people and hope they succeed, pretty much everyone against Goins want him to fail. Now the next guy will come and say they only want him to fail so the FO will bring someone else who is better than replacement level... Where i want him to prove that he is above replacement level.
Glock Verified Member Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 He's escalated from defending his baseball skills to defending his personal life. While saying that he's obsessed with Ryan may be a bit of a stretch there is no denying that Gruber is madly in love with him
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 3 wRC+ oh my god lol He needs to have like a ~75 one to contribute. Only 73% more to go!
roday Verified Member Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 decaffeinately we shoul focus on defend that has been our weakness all year.

shortstop Verified Member Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 ugh, 0 RBI's after 48 at bats and a .146 avg & .196 oba... can see the situation where 2nd is manned by Kawasaki & Diaz from some point in May & forward...
flafson Verified Member Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 For a guy that is being asked to sacrifice himself pretty much on every other play after being something like 1 for his first 30, you look too much into the stats.

Yesterday was the first time i can recall he had RISP with 2 outs and wasn't asked to sacrifice himself.

You mean skimming over the bare basics is looking too deep? Lol, DEFEND GOINS AT ALL COSTS

Goins has 2 sacrifice hits in 53 PA. And a -2 wRC+. Just shut up already.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 He has looked as good on defense as we had hoped, but even worse at the plate than we had feared. Should have upgraded at 2B this off season. It's not too late to do so either. Mid season trade pls, AA.
flafson Verified Member Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Goins has 2 sacrifice hits in 53 PA. And a -2 wRC+. Just shut up already. Why don't you just round up everyone that doesn't agree with you in a re-education center?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Why don't you just round up everyone that doesn't agree with you in a re-education center? It's one thing to have an opinion about a guy and make legit points to defend him, it's another to present ******** as fact when you could have easily looked it up in less than a minute like I did. Your guy is playing like s*** like we all knew he would and you're out of ways to defend him so now you're just straight up bullshitting.
shortstop Verified Member Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 at some point, he will need to produce something at the plate...right now, he's not even at the minimum of what we're looking for and expectations have been set realistically low... he'll be given additional time, perhaps another month, but after 100-130 abs, if not much has changed, I do not see how they can justify Goins sticking around... the plan was great defence, minimum amount of respectability at the plate...so far, imo, the latter half of the plan isn't working out

Your guy is playing like s*** like we all knew he would and you're out of ways to defend him so now you're just straight up bullshitting. I'm not bullshitting, i could count on 1 hand the number of times he was allowed to hit when he had runners on base. Obviously he's not Melky but you can't point to stats all the time when the guy is barely getting the green light to hit. So far it's either bases are empty so they let him try to work on his swing or you have runners and they tell him to move them over.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 I'm not bullshitting, i could count on 1 hand the number of times he was allowed to hit when he had runners on base. He's had 2 sacrifice hits, man. This isn't a stat, this is just data. What actually happened. You're just not right. It isn't a fact.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 He has 29 PA with the bases empty. Hasn't done anything in them either. Also, your theory suggests that the Blue Jays think having Goins sacrifice is more productive than having him hit. Have you thought about why that might be? f***, I was gonna mention that but forgot lol. Hmm, I wonder why they want Goins sacrificing?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Ryan Goins now has 53 games and 174 PA of 0.0 fWAR performance. I love when things work out exactly how they're expected to. How long have you been waiting to make this post?

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Again I will say Goins bat is not the worry as no one expected his bat to provide us many wins! At this point in the season I would be more concerned about EE , Rasmus and Lawrie as their bats need to get going if we are to contend. Not Ryan f***ing Goins's ! I laugh because those who want Ryan removed clammer for the call up of Gose who may be even worse then Ryan with the bat! And he ain't no Rickey when when it comes to stealing either ! Don't believe the hype on him sorry! Believe his value is best in serving this team in a trade!

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 WTF, I can see the thread when it's listed as "last post" on the main forum page, but its hidden in the list of threads under "Toronto Blue Jays Forum". Probably means you're in the process of being banned. You're a good guy and I'll miss discussing things with you.
