bronson44 Verified Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Not a great first game for Goins, but what did we expect vs. Price? Looks like he might be playing some SS with Reyes out unless they want to keep him at 2B for some reason. I'm interested to see how his D is at SS Shi Davidi @ShiDavidi 1h Jose Reyes headed for MRI on hamstring, no roster move expected tonight. If DL needed Gibbons says preference is to keep Goins at 2B

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I'm probably the biggest lurker in this thread so might as well make my first post here lol I thought Goins was going to be as s*** vs. LHP but I'm wrong. I guess we're platooning Izzy there now... Oh boy. But we must listen to Buck Martinez! "People are saying Steven Drew is out there but how is he going to help the team? As soon as Reyes comes back you'll have two good SS and no where to put them"
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Wow. The very two people that would rip anyone here for making these meaningless sss statements. Way to go guys. May as well throw EE into the fire while you're at it.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Goins hit a few balls hard tonight. I think he gets a hit before the series is over!
Convo Verified Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Goins hit a few balls hard tonight. I think he gets a hit before the series is over! Sucks when the young guys don't get results out of the gate... they may start pressing, which could lead to some bad mechanics or something.
flafson Verified Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 From what Buck said tonight, Joe Madden was impressed by Goins that they positioned Myers in deep right field. They think he had power to drive the ball.

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 He had three good at bats, one he swung on a 3-2 breaking pitch that was nowhere the plate. He looked better but he shouldn't swing at anything just because its 3-2
flafson Verified Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 He is having better AB's overall but i just hope he doesn't give up too soon for lack of results. If he does, that will be the end of his career.

I do not believe he made mention of being attracted to those of his own gender in his comment, actually. Pretty sure he just posted a comment that had literally nothing to do with you. http://web.viu.ca/eagillis/Squirrel%20Pages/Grey%20Squirrel.jpg
Caper Verified Member Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 The difference between Edwin and Goins is that Edwin is good at baseball and Goins is not. If Edwin starts 0-7 nobody cares because he has a track record. When Goins starts 0-7 without managing to get the ball out of the infield it's an eye-roll moment, because it's more of the same. He was bad in the minors, bad in the majors last year, bad in spring, and bad in 7 plate appearances this year. He's a bad hitter, who shouldn't be playing everyday. That's based on his entire body of work, not just 7 plate appearances. Just like Yan Gomes was terrible at baseball.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Just like Yan Gomes was terrible at baseball. Wrong Yan gomes has power

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Jose Bautista was bad at baseball and now look at how good he is. Who's to say that can't happen with Goins? It's worth it to let Goins play a full season (or two) to see if he's the next Bautista. Everyone should be given an opportunity. It's the only way to know who is good.
Caper Verified Member Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Wrong Yan gomes has power That's what I said.
Caper Verified Member Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Congrats, you're so stupid you've managed to join digiblader as one of two people in my IL. Sorry I didn't suck your dick... Like half the meatballs that post here.

I's only a matter of time before this stud demonstrate his true potential.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 He has tied his entire existence on this board to defending the honor of Goins. And squirrels. And homosexuality. And proving out that 0.0 = 0.7. And that 5.00+ = 4.50. Don't forget 100 = 130 or whatever he said.

Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 BUMP 0-3, 3K's tonight Currently sporting a .178 OPS Still think he has a .300 average in that bat Seitzer/AA/Gibbons? Do the right thing and call up Kawasaki instead of this bum. His glove has to be at least 5 WAR to offset his atrocious bat.
