G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 For discussion cause there's no Jays news worth discussing Cabrera is on fire again. Too many game winning hits recently to count. Currently leading in BA and RBI by a wide margin and rocking a MLB leading .452 OBP and 1.146 OPS. He has already amassed 7.8 WAR. What a ridiculous year. He seems a lock for MVP again. It's even conceivable that he could catch Davis in HR (he trails by 5) and win the triple crown 2 years in a row. That would be something to see. I'll root for him for sure.

That's one of the things I like about him. There's never been a HINT of suspicion that he's a cheater. I certainly hope he's clean and just an incredibly talented player. The best pure hitter since Bonds if you ask me.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 I don't give a s***, he's the enemy. Hahahaha. I'd prefer the Tigers to beat the Red Sox and Yankees any day, especially in the playoffs.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 It's incredible to me how a single player can be so much better than all the other best players on the planet. Just a slam-dunk Hall of Famer and one of the greatest hitters of all time (especially considering context).
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 Btw The triple crown is s***. I know. What if was tops in all of OBP, HR and WAR? We could make a new name for that.

With hundreds and hundreds of excellent players in any sport it's amazing when one rises so much higher than the rest. Gretzky Michael Jordan Lebron Tiger Barry Bonds Guys like that are worth being a fan of sport just for the amazingness of their feats, even if you don't always like them.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 We all know youre racist against Venezuelans. After my response I wondered if there might be some country partisan issue behind his statement as well.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Another thing that's crazy about Cabrera, when you watch him, his best power is to RCF. He never pulls off on anything, probably a huge reason why he has a legit 80 hit tool.
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 lol this board has such a hardon for WAR
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Except that he's not even the best player. I meant specifically at hitting, with all due respect to Trout.
Nox Verified Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Guys, he's not even the best RHH, of the last decade. Not to mention the fact he's basically a DH. This urge break out the annointing oil is pretty dumb.
Nox Verified Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I meant specifically at hitting, with all due respect to Trout. Oh, well yah. Miggy is the best hitter in the game right now. No doubt about that.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 It's pretty f***ing crazy that Mike Trout has actually improved his hitting across the board this year, though (BB%, K%, AVG, ISO, wOBA). 166 wRC+ last year, up to 179 in 2013. That is downright godly.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 We fellated Poojulls for years, hes a HOFer. That said, Miggy's 2013 is better than any year Pooey ever had (thus far).

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 It's pretty hard to expect someone to improve on a 10 WAR rookie season. I would venture to say that most people pegged him to take at least a slight step back this season.

Both are slam dunk hall of famers.

Nox Verified Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I see I've successfully turned this into a Mike Trout appreciation thread. Mission accomplished.

And to think Barry Bonds blows both of them out of the water. Just makes me appreciate Bonds even more even if he was on steroids.

Steroids aside, you need amazing talent to do what he did... I was looking at his number the other day and its just insane. a .404 career OBP and +1 career OPS is nuts.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 Trout will be around or above 10.5 WAR at seasons end. Wow. But won't have any real chance to win the MVP this year either. Cause the rest of the team stinks.

I get frustrated when people completely write him off as a hitter because of the roids.
