I think every trade AA makes we should have a poll to see if people liked it or not. That way when Boni hits .340 in KC people can't second guess AA and call him a moron for trading him away for nothing.

I am personally glad he was dumped, his 40 man roster spot is more valuable.

I expected Arkadium, but I guess you beat him to it.

Voted for good trade because it opens up a roster spot and he has been s***, however it sucks because coming into the year I was actually pretty pumped about Boni. Edited by Sammy225

Maybe I missed an update, but didn't we trade him for a PTBNL. And people still think it's a good trade.

So basically, we're all thrilled to be rid of him.

The interesting thing is that in the big trade with Miami, AA was adamant that Bonifacio be included.

It's a positive sign that AA can accept the fact that he made a mistake, and cut his losses.

Boni's not worth the roster spot so why keep him on the roster? Rajai is at least good at hitting lefties and stealing bases.

Boni for 3M 2014 isn,t the best of the ideas.

It's a good trade since his 1skill was redundant and he sucks at everything that doesn't involve running fast.

I still can't believe just how bad of a bunter he was - the worst I've ever seen to be honest. Especially for someone of his limited skillset, he should be able to bunt.

The fact that I don't have to see him grin after making an error and the team down 6+ runs and no more Loviste is good enough to get rid of him for free

Dude also has no tools. No power, contact or walks, no glove, range or arm, no baserunning ability just speed (ala he can't use his speed well, too many CS). 0 tool player.

Whoever voted bad trade, lol. Just lol.

I voted bad trade.. Boni is sucking ass this year, but he's been good in the past and is still in his prime. I just feel we could have got more for him then a few hundred thousand.

His walks are down, his K's are up, and he isn't making too much solid contact. That, and he's horrendous as a fielder. He's posted a negative fWAR and he's getting paid 2m. He's 28 and probably not going to improve by much. A BABIP regression argument could be made, but he's really not hitting the ball well enough to justify it imo.

It's a bad trade but who cares Boni isn't worth much to begin with and I'm sure pretty much everyone will just be glad he's finally gone.

How is it a bad trade? Getting anything for a player who was going to be non tendered is a bonus.

Voted like, but its a non-factor. We save like $600K before non-tendering him, plus whatever cash we get. Clearing the roster spot is nice though.

not having to see his Fking grin every game is amazingly great and worth whatever they can get. a bag of seeds and some double bubble would have been an over pay. 29 GMs are smarter than ours.

Very happy with this trade

A) He was costing us wins and might have next year too

B) It means AA isn't blind, nor too stubborn to admit he made a mistake

C) It makes it more likely that we keep Rajai Davis as our 4th OF/pinch runner (something I really want them to do)

Ftfy, I'm not sure Dayton Moore can qualify as smarter than anyone, lol.

Buy high and sell low . How is that working for us ?

Srsly, AA is the worst f***ing GM of all time... almost every move he makes is a colossal failure.

I agree, Davis is a great platoon man. as long as her never faces RHP.

Acquiring Escobar

Acquiring Rasmus

Acquiring Lawrie

Acquiring Morrow

Acquiring Delabar

Colossal failures.

Hence the word "almost". The sum of the moves has been pretty abysmal. I'm not going to get into a huge debate about it but what he's done is depleted our minor league system to turn the team into a non-contender. We have a small chance to compete next year, after that we're not going to have another window for at least 4-6 years.

Funny, because I'm not 100% certain, but I swear he was voted as one of the best bunters in baseball.
