The White Sox receive OF Avisail Garcia, P Jeffrey Wendelken, P Francellis Montas and SS Cleuluis Rondon, as the Tigers only receive SS Jose Iglesias The Oakland Athletics have acquired 3B Alberto Callaspo from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in exchange for ex-first round selection 2B Grant Green A's: The acquisition of Alberto Callaspo is a weird one (for the price) as he'll just serve the team as a bench player to backup Josh Donaldson and play a bit of 2B. The A's have won 16 games in April, May, and June. If they win tonight it would be win #16 in July... The Jays can spoil that Jays: Jose Reyes, Rasmus and Melk Man have done well in SSS against Colon, going 3/4, 4/6, 5/8 against the righty respectively Melky misses another game because of leg soreness. Arkadium Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Gibby putting Lawrie in his place batting him 9th, good move
vdartanian Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Heyy dat dere Colby Rasmus fella is now up ahead of Jose Bautista in the "WARz"
Arkadium Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Edwin is hitting .280 but his his BABIP is only .253. Wow. Dingers will do that. So progression to the mean is expected then?
bzapple Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 It must be senior's day at the ballpark.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Edwin is hitting .280 but his his BABIP is only .253. Wow. Flyball guy, Dingers and more dingers (Adam Dunn)
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Or it means we haven't seen the best of Edwin yet. Perhaps he will become a .300+ hitter. The fact that he swings so hard and strikes out so little is amazing. I think he threw more bats in the stands then struck out this season. .300+ hitter = less dingers No f***ing way
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Wut? Edwin sacrifices some his batting average to hit the ball out of the park. It's a simple and basic principle of baseball.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 will dickey figure out how to give up home runs at the Coliseum?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 JPA hug Bonifacio. They both are fags or was traded.
Howard Roark Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Sweeeeeet, I didn't even realize they were playing early today. Just got back from St. Lawrence Market, turn on the tube and Buck's slurred speech greets my ears! Noice.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 You don't see Lawrie bail on anything very often. Get the man some shades!
JSFIP Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Who cares about this game when we have incompetent management like AA
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Reyes needs to teach Boni how to do that. That was a beauty!
Howard Roark Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Reyes is literally the only off-season acquisition that has played up to his potential.
Howard Roark Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Holy s***, 2 successful bunts in a row!!!!!1111111!!!111!! -falls off chair-
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Holy s***, 2 successful bunts in a row!!!!!1111111!!!111!! -falls off chair- Followed by the babip gods giving us the finger.
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Honestly couldn't be any more apathetic about this piece of s*** team right now, hope they lose out and make AA look like the dumbass he truly is.
Howard Roark Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Followed by the babip gods giving us the finger. Yup. Although to be fair, I've come to expect a 2nd and 3rd, 1 out situation to result in 0 runs, seeing as how this year has gone. I haven't been getting mad since early May when they were 10-21.
Howard Roark Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 -rofl- This team cracks me up. Honestly, it's like the baseball gods have been pissing on our heads all year long. Looking back on it, even that 11-game win streak was a fist up the ass, all it did was give those of us who had already given up another opportunity to get our hopes dashed.
Tuco Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Bautista trying to be a hero....What else is new?
Caper Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Honestly couldn't be any more apathetic about this piece of s*** team right now, hope they lose out and make AA look like the dumbass he truly is. Good I hope that translates into you moving away from the board.
Howard Roark Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Rasmus is going to be so much more expensive to lock up long term after the year he's had.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Loving Colby's new approach. He's starting to put up some serious CF value. I say keep him.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Izturis bunts with two strikes no less, but Rajai swings away against a tough rightie. Gibbons for Prime Minister.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Yeah Thole is on deck but you still have to bunt there.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Worst case,Lawrie up with two runners in scoring position. Besides,if Rajai is an out(which he was),you have a prime DP candidate in Thole up with runners on first and second. Gibby can't think that far ahead. There you go,we should be up 2-1 now. Gibbons is such a stupid f***.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I'm loving this new more patient version of Lawrie.
