Notes:

MLB:

  • No Important Notes Today.

Rays:

  • Evan Longoria is in a cold streak, going .136 in his last 18 games. He has hit 15/36 against Toronto this season with two homers and 10 RBI.
  • The Tampa Bay Rays starters have had 15 consecutive quality starts, breaking their team record of 9 in 2010. Their starters have yielded a 1.91 ERA during this streak.
  • The Rays are 20-24 against AL East teams, including going 5-5 against Toronto so far this season

Jays:

  • Jose Bautista is looking to break out of a slump he put himself in before the break, going 3/32 with no homers in his last 9 games before the break. He is, however, 12/34 against David Price with 4 homers
  • Jose Reyes is hitting .286 with three homers since coming off the DL
  • Esmil Rogers' last start was a great one, as he gave up only one run across 6 innings fanning 7 along the way. In his last start against Tampa, he earned a loss as he gave 4 runs, including a back-to-back-to-back homers display by James Loney, Wil Meyers and Sam Fuld.
  • The Jays are 4 games over .500 at home (25-21)

I'd like to point out that Yunel Escobar is 3rd on the Rays' in WAR

Dammit I wish Miami had kept him. *******s.

he was the only hitter they could find who was worse than JPA? it's a saber move all the way.

With a lefty on the mound,Lawrie at this point in time serves as the ideal choice for the secondary lead off hitter role. The cocky goof better start taking advice from Mottolla seriously and quiet down his hands in his approach, otherwise he's a NL eight hole hitter at best.

I thought Melky would be back today.

I was really excited thinking about our infield for next year.

We need a healthier, better outfield but if the rumours are right that Bautista will move to 3rd (and he should) then..

Bautista, Reyes, Lawrie, Edwin is a great infield.

If only we could do better at catcher.

I hope AA is smart enough to trade JPA and sign Yadier Molina For two years, that's if Beeston and AA are serious about this "three year, go for it" window they keep talking about.

Let's start off this side of the season with a win. Even if there's basically no chance they make the playoffs I still want to see them win. I wish we could get some young guys up though. Stroman/Nolin for Redmon, Pillar, Gose?...lol never mind we have no one.
