Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Like what? I've never accepted donations before, and only did it as it was suggested by a few people. Like I said, I don't want people to feel obligated, if they want to help out, go ahead. I really don't know if Ang should be donating. I did it. This is not mandatory, it is optional. Do it or shut up
admin Site Manager Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Ignore function has been modified. If you ignore someone now, you won't see their post, or new threads they start. We've had a few donations. Thanks so much.

ReturnOfTheYeti Verified Member Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 The mods and I have been talking, and Gsnarls really like the idea of when you add someone to ignore, you don't see their posts anymore, or even the "You have this person on ignore". I said to have something like that custom done will be about $100, probably less. Gsnarls said he would pay for it (bless his soul), but I said there's no need for him to cover the cost. So I set up a donation page. The donations isn't mandatory, it's simply for anyone that wants to help the site out, and contribute for improvements. I will not take any of the money from donations. The donations will strictly be for forum upgrades, modifactions, and any costs needed for the site. It costs some money for the forum, and monthly costs for the server, but I really don't mind paying it, I'm just glad the forum turned into what it did. But some guys said they'd like to donate, so I'm setting this up. Also, I'd like to mention, I told Gsnarls to send a $1 payment to test it, to make sure it was working, and he went ahead and sent $50. So thanks so much. I told him the whole point of this was so he didn't have to donate a lot lol. And if anyone has any other ideas for forum modifications, let me know. If we all agree on it, we can do it. I've been trying to get something to link the stands off the forum, but it's been hard finding something that works. I think MLB doesn't like their content shared for some reason, as you can tell by rarely seeing any MLB videos on youtube. To make a donation, please visit: http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/donate.html You can pay by paypal or credit card. All transactions are safe and secure, and done via PAYPAL, not our website. Also, if you wante to put your username in the message, I'll try and give a little "donator" tag to your name, if you'd like. Thank you for all donations, it is appreciated, and will help the site grow. We are not affiliate with MLB or the Toronto Blue Jays. Any donations will not be taken as profit. $5 has been donated - thanks for all of the hard work!

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 let me know when you get money. it might take a couple days transferring from Swedish bank.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 I'd pm this but maybe a few guys are wondering this too. Would there be a way to set up a recurring donation of some kind? Like, I'd part with 5 bucks a month no prob to keep this place going but sometimes I just forget to donate.
admin Site Manager Posted April 10, 2014 Author Posted April 10, 2014 Nah, you know what, this was good. I'm more than happy with guy contributed to help out. Guys were generous, but even if it was only enough to cover a month's costs I would have been happy. I'll put a banner up in the near future and it'll bring in a few bucks. Maybe I can set up something where guys that donated don't see the banner at all.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 @Admin: Any chance we see image-friendly signatures and better emoticons in the future? Most vBulletin forums I'm on have the set of animated emoticons that include things like these (http://i.imgur.com/py2PxcN.gif http://i.imgur.com/RN70TUF.gif http://i.imgur.com/FA2CI9v.gif http://i.imgur.com/GkHkVKq.gif?1 http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/5176/smileyexcited002.gif), so I assume they might not be that hard to incorporate, but I'm unsure as to whether or not it'll cost money to add them.

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Did I miss something? Why do people hate image sigs? :0
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 I think they'd be alright just as long as they aren't that big. Real GM's layout is fine and they have the image sig's.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Did I miss something? Why do people hate image sigs? :0 Just requires more scrolling past useless junk, and there are too many people on this forum that would abuse this by thinking they were funny. If they were significantly limited in size and an option to hide, that's fine with me.

If they were tastefully done it'd be fine but there would be too many f***ing retarded ones on this forum.
admin Site Manager Posted April 18, 2014 Author Posted April 18, 2014 I don't think it's a good idea. Maybe I can see if there's an option to turn them off.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I don't think it's a good idea. Maybe I can see if there's an option to turn them off. Most forums do have an option to disable signatures: http://i.gyazo.com/0eec792fa2afee0d0ded34587c48ae3a.png So if we could get them implemented with a similar option, I don't think it would harm or irritate anybody, while making the forum more diverse and letting people customize their profiles and posts further.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I think it's time to update the "2013 mid season" prospect tab on the site.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I think it's time to update the "2013 mid season" prospect tab on the site. Nah. Wait until the draft.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Nah. Wait until the draft. Fair. Wasn't this why we did all those polls though?
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 No, Admin wanted more activity on the board through the slow offseason. Makes sense. A list was made though. Might as well put it up as a pre 2014 list and do another one after the draft/towards the end of the year. Beats having a top 10 list with Phil Bickford on it. IMO.
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Are you guys having vbulletin folks code/implement your changes or hiring third party developers? I don't post often, but I am willing to donate a few bucks, probably will do so soon. I am a software developer, mostly doing C# and asp.net nowadays (web applications and mobile apps, just getting started with Xamarin for Android/IOS), but literally grew up with PHP and MySQL. Drop me a line if you guys want to discuss some charitable (read: free-of-cost) efforts somewhere in the future.
43211234 Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Please no sig images. Ever. Would it be possible to implement an alerts system? Basically just getting a notification if somebody quotes or thanks your post, or posts in a thread you have listed as "watched".
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I will take donations, pm for paypal 10 seconds to ban...
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 What would it take to get basically unlimited messages in our mailboxes? It's a constant problem for most of the people in the fantasy leagues. In this age of cheap data, I have to think storing a 12kb email shouldn't really be such a problem.
