admin Site Manager Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 The mods and I have been talking, and Gsnarls really like the idea of when you add someone to ignore, you don't see their posts anymore, or even the "You have this person on ignore". I said to have something like that custom done will be about $100, probably less. Gsnarls said he would pay for it (bless his soul), but I said there's no need for him to cover the cost. So I set up a donation page. The donations isn't mandatory, it's simply for anyone that wants to help the site out, and contribute for improvements. I will not take any of the money from donations. The donations will strictly be for forum upgrades, modifactions, and any costs needed for the site. It costs some money for the forum, and monthly costs for the server, but I really don't mind paying it, I'm just glad the forum turned into what it did. But some guys said they'd like to donate, so I'm setting this up. Also, I'd like to mention, I told Gsnarls to send a $1 payment to test it, to make sure it was working, and he went ahead and sent $50. So thanks so much. I told him the whole point of this was so he didn't have to donate a lot lol. And if anyone has any other ideas for forum modifications, let me know. If we all agree on it, we can do it. I've been trying to get something to link the stands off the forum, but it's been hard finding something that works. I think MLB doesn't like their content shared for some reason, as you can tell by rarely seeing any MLB videos on youtube. To make a donation, please visit: http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/donate.html You can pay by paypal or credit card. All transactions are safe and secure, and done via PAYPAL, not our website. Also, if you wante to put your username in the message, I'll try and give a little "donator" tag to your name, if you'd like. Thank you for all donations, it is appreciated, and will help the site grow. We are not affiliate with MLB or the Toronto Blue Jays. Any donations will not be taken as profit.
OtisNixonFan Verified Member Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Admin, maybe an email address for Email transfer cash?
admin Site Manager Posted July 8, 2013 Author Posted July 8, 2013 What are all the upgrades that would come with this? The ignore list one Doesn't really seem worth that much money The ignore list will be about $100, at most. Any extra money will be used for any future modifications/costs etc. Any upgrades that are decided upon. It's not mandatory, don't feel forced. I wouldn't mind seeing if I could do the standings thing, or maybe even live scores somehow integraded into the site, if that's possible. There's just been a few posts where guys said they wouldn't mind donating a few bucks towards site costs, so I figured I'd put this up for those that want to. Gsnarls covered most the cost for this upgrade, which I told him not to! Some sites take donations to make money, this is donations to go back into the site. Admin, maybe an email address for Email transfer cash? I'll take a look at that. I kinda like the paypal one though, as I can just keep it in the paypal account, rather than the money going into my bank account (which it does for email transfer).
admin Site Manager Posted July 8, 2013 Author Posted July 8, 2013 How much money of this goes to bringing GordieDougie out of hibernation? Ha lol we can use it for that too! We can always use the money towards contests, and stuff like that too. Signed jersey or signed bat giveaway would be pretty cool.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 How much money of this goes to bringing GordieDougie out of hibernation? Ha Maybe he's dead.

ace3113 Verified Member Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 I'd be down to donate if the upgrades were worthwhile. My suggestion/request (if possible). If you put someone on ignore they wouldn't be able to see your posts either.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 I read those, questionable tweets too. Said Bernier is barely an upgrade over Scrivens..lol We should just designate him for anal or something, enough of his garbage Sorry to break it to you, but he's right on bernier. #firenonis
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 It doesn't make a difference to me, I'm not a leafs fan. But I say Bernier >>>> Scrivens Based on hype and a 60 sample? There's not a big difference between a good and an average goalie, and the leafs paid a second round pick to improve the backup goalie position slightly.

Somehow streaking at a Jays game with bluejaysmessageboard turns into profit. Brilliant! I can actually see this working, strangely enough. Or at least it would in a movie.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 maybe if Collins ever gets a save I can pimp the message board in my youtube video.

LOVethISTEam Verified Member Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 We should start a charity fund to tweet at JPA "BlueJaysMessageBoard.com will donate $20 per JPA BB to a charity of his choice". We'll be doing good work for the jays and for a deserving charity.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 I'll donate 10 dollars $10 in Pesos? That's what, 10 cents Canadian?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 $10 in Pesos? That's what, 10 cents Canadian? Jodete Cabron lol I send 10 dollars, 400 Dominican pesos (my monthly salary lol)
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 $10 in Pesos? That's what, 10 cents Canadian? $10 in Pesos would be ten dollars, since Pesos aren't dollars.

vdartanian Verified Member Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 I donated, thanks for all your work in getting this site up and running ju1ced. I expect my contribution will allow me the following privledges: - one drunken rant where I get to slander someone without consequence or ridicule - the ability to personally bring the banhammer on the troll of my choice
admin Site Manager Posted July 8, 2013 Author Posted July 8, 2013 It would probably help with donations if you added incentives to the deal. A lot of message boards that ask for donations often do. Of course you don't have to but its just a suggestion. Like what? I've never accepted donations before, and only did it as it was suggested by a few people. Like I said, I don't want people to feel obligated, if they want to help out, go ahead. I really don't know if Ang should be donating.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 From other forums: -if you donate, you get a tag that says you're a donator. You can also get titles that are customizable I'd also suggest that when looking for features you allow images in signatures.
admin Site Manager Posted July 8, 2013 Author Posted July 8, 2013 Okay thanks. Yeah I was going to do the donator or something cool under their name. We got a few donations, thanks guys who have donated. Someone donated but didn't give their forum name, please PM me if you did, and the name so I know it's you. Unless you want to keep it anonymous. Nonetheless, thank you so much. I turned off images in signature, I just felt it makes threads look too ugly. But if people want it on, we can discuss that.

An idea is maybe the ability to change the rank name under your username (like how mine says "I f***ed up the winning streak" lol) or maybe turning on images in sigs like you said (get prepared for Escobar gifsssssssssssssssssssss!) Regardless I'll donate in the coming weeks when I start to have money rolling in. It won't hurt me to donate to this place, afterall I have visit this site (probably) more than anyother ones
