dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Wow worst game of the year. I think this is officially rock bottom.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 LOL. Have you seen Hicks' stats? He has upside long-term but right now it's not pretty. He seems to be their Anthony Gose.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 lol Zaun "Mike Pelfrey is a pretty darn good pitcher" lol. This is what I found so amusing about the Arencibia thread, the guy managed to get posters here to love Zaun. He also compared Arencibia to Piazza.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Perez is just a guy. I don't think talent evaluators still consider him much of a prospect. Woj might be a middle reliever. Happ is an actual Major League pitcher, I much prefer him. I think if the Jays had gotten Wandy Rodriguez instead of Happ, people wouldn't bring up that trade. Then again, if Rodriguez was struggling or injured, they probably would've.
digiblader Verified Member Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Rock bottom was a while ago--when we were about 11 under. And BTW.. didn't the Jays even see tape on Pelfrey? That was ugly...
digiblader Verified Member Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 After this start, Twins will likely get a decent prospect or two for Pelfrey..he's on an expiring deal, and will be a free agent this winter, just like Josh Johnson.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Yeah I don't understand why AA doesn't like free agency. But we didn't give up anything so it's hard to criticize this individual trade. We would have lost some from rule 5 if they weren't traded for someone anyhow. A prime guy in return *usually* takes prime prospects in the package, not a bunch of mediocre ones. Same with the Marlins trade (and we STILL have 40 man problems, regardless of how they were created). For me personally the ONLY guy I'm really upset about losing is Syndergaard, and his hype probably exceeds his realistic future upside unless those secondary pitches take a big step forward.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 So I take it Dickey was a shitbag once again? lol
digiblader Verified Member Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Orioles lose--Jays lose only .5 game in the standings. Yankees now lead the 2nd wild card--although a Tampa win and they're tied.
admin Site Manager Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 He's out of excuses too, it has been made clear that he is healthy. Pitched well enough to win. Needed support from offense... sarcasm
over500 Verified Member Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Dickey trade becomes more and more epic every day.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Pitched well enough to win. Needed support from offense... sarcasm the problem is that the jays offense is too stupid to play well. they had every chance to break things open early but are insufferably incompetent. it literally hurts to watch them. most fans want to cut their eyes out by the third inning.... you cant fix stupid
DH12 Verified Member Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Dickey is a one trick pony. If that trick isn't working he's toast
