connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 I know these articles you take with a grain of salt... but Durant and Leonard would be a pretty awesome pairing of Clips could pull it off: https://www.yahoo.com/sports/reports-kevin-durant-talking-kawhi-160002722.html I don’t think they’d take any flak for teaming up either
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 If Kawhi wants to team up with Durant, he should re-sign for one year with the Raps and do that next year.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 I never got the KL taking a one year deal thing. Especially with his injury history you’d think be one to grab the max Cause of Lowry and Gasol, duh.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 Raps should sign KD as well if they could. KD loved watching Vince Carter when he grew up and the Raptors were one of his favourite teams. The Raptors could be a perfect match for KD from a health standpoint - the Raptors did such a great job with Leonard keeping him healthy and offering him load management. Even when KD comes back, Raps could just play him 50-60 games of the regular season and still make the playoffs either as the No. 1 or 2 seed. Raptors just won a championship and with a healthy KD and Leonard in Toronto, they could likely win multiple championships over the next 4-5 years. Raps have a lot of money coming off the books after 2019/2020 with Lowry, Gasol and Ibaka as free agents. I'm sure Gasol or Ibaka would take less money to stay with the Raptors if they have both Leonard and Durant. Lowry might resign for another 1-2 year deal as well if he's healthy.

Can the Raptors afford Durant? I think next season will be tough, but once guys like Ibaka, Gasol and Lowry are off the books the following season, I think they would be able to squeeze him and Leonard in.

Especially with his injury history you’d think be one to grab the max Could Kawai do a 5 year deal with a player option each year in yrs 2-5? That way he is guaranteed money if hurt, and can leave after year 1 if he wants..?

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 So looks like Kemba definitely going to Boston on max deal. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/reports-kemba-walker-plans-to-commit-to-max-deal-with-celtics-204155086.html I actually haven’t watched him play but he seems like a chucker

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 At 31, Darren Collison is retiring getting the NBA. Something about his faith and being a Jehovah's Witness. He was going to make some serious coin this offseason as a FA too. What a f***ing idiot. My gosh. The Brit who is the poster child for beta male cuckery and is grinning from ear to ear as his former world power homeland is going down the shitter is calling someone else a f***ing idiot. Someone who has made millions of dollars, got to retire at a young age decades before Bob, and who is spending his money and his life as he sees fit. LOL.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 As far as the religious debate in the NBA thread...while I always enjoy a good connor pile on, he is 100% right here. Atheists, especially of the liberal kind, have got to be the fastest growing group of f***ing morons who lack any self-awareness and think they are smart. A bunch of Brian Griffin clones who lack the personal drive and cognitive ability to do anything with their lives except suck and complain on the internet but have no problems trashing far more accomplished gentlemen like Ben Carson.

If I'm the Raptors I like that deal even better than 5 years guaranteed.

He can't see this because he's designated you as a "troll" Personally, I can't wait to see him lose his s*** when I become a mod and he can't put me on ignore lol.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Durant doing his own version of “The Decision” and announcing his decision tonight on his “network” or whatever it is
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Breaking word: Durant, Irving, and DeAndre Jordan to Nets.
Frag Verified Member Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Breaking word: Durant, Irving, and DeAndre Jordan to Nets. Knicks fans switching to the Nets in a hurry.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Knicks fans switching to the Nets in a hurry. The Knicks striking out hard yet again after fans hopes were so high (this time even more so than other times) is the best FA story line imo. Being from NY I have a bias though I guess. Leonard/Tor saga would be 2 for me and this Nets team-up is 3.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Next year the FA class is literally headed up by Kyle Lowry, Draymond Green (who likely stays w/GS), and Derozan if he opts out The only star is AD but it’s pretty much in stone he’ll stay in LA
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I'm liking how the FA musical chairs are panning out so far. Boston is slightly weaker Philadelphia is slightly weaker Brooklyn is better but not a threat as what Boston was supposed to be in the EC heading into 2018-19 season Miami is still irrelevant LOL Knicks I don't get Miami's thinking here. Just delaying the inevitable rebuild that must take place there. Guess they took one look at attendance figures of other sports teams in the area and realize their future if they do one. Also this, lol
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 That was a crazy day! The Warriors trading for Russell was arguably the biggest surprise. Quite a good day for the Raptors IMO. Bucks lose Brogdan, 76’ers lose Butler, Celtics didn’t get a superstar (though Walker is a good replacement for Irving), the Nets are a year away (if it works at all for them). Whichever team of the Lakers, Clippers or Raptors get Kawhi will be in a great position.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Just seeing the Russell deal, GS did Iggy a bit dirty shipping him to Memphis but business first I guess. I was hoping the Lakers got him. I actually hope they miss out on Leonard. That would be too much. If they win a title everyone will shrug their shoulders and if they lose, it’ll be a huge choke and all those guys will have to hear about it every day if they aren’t great

Actually I messed up typing that I wanted LA to get Russell. But yeah, they did do Iggy dirty but he’ll prob get bought out at some point
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Would be cool to see Leonard announce he's resigning with the Raptors on Canada Day. I would like to see the Raps target Kelly Oubre Jr., Seth Curry and it would be cool to bring back Vince Carter for his last season.
