Thank you for talking some sense into people. JV is seriously disrespected by his own fans. Give him demar's touches and you're looking at a superstar

I don't think people are advocating trading him because he's a bad player... just that it's something to talk about given the emergence of Biyombo in these playoffs, the fact that there's no chance they could keep them both, and whether the downgrade on offense from one to the other is worth the defensive upgrade, the potential money savings, and the possible return of a very valuable asset that could make the team better.

I don't know what I would do, to me it looked like JV was emerging defensively prior to the injury (not on Biz level mind you) and he already has the offensive game and ability to shoot free throws.

Problem is, Biz is a free agent after he declines his player option, so you could possibly lose him for nothing. Raps dont have his bird rights so they have no advantage over any other team in signing him.

It's worth having the conversation if the Raps are better with Biyombo starting with Nog backing up plus the potential trade return for JV, or JV and Nog with Biyombo just gone.

It's going to be an intriguing situation to follow this offseason. I think the Raps could win with either JV or Biyombo at C, though they will have to make a decision on which one they move forward with. I don't mind Nog as the backup behind either of those guys. The Raps do need a starting PF, which I think needs to be the No. 1 priority. Al Horford would be a prefect fit. You can't go into next season again with starting PF's like Scola/PP again. As well, replacing DeRozan with a better player would be a huge plus as well. Raps will have money coming off the books, as well a possible trade chip in JV. It will be an interesting offseason.

From what we've seen from Noguera I don't think he should be counted on as a backup regardless. The team is going to need a 4 this offseason regardless of what happens. Rather the team just go small when JV isn't on the court.

Noguiera has been fine.

trading JV for the #2 pick would be silly. biyombo is going to cost close to the same $$$ as JV and simply isnt as good. its not like we are saving anything in the long run other than a couple million in cap space a year.

plus the draft is such a crapshoot its not like the #2 pick is guaranteed to be good at all. here are 10 years worth of #2 picks.

2015 D'Angelo Russell

2014 Jabari Parker

2013 Victor Oladipo Indiana Orlando

2012 Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Kentucky Charlotte

2011 Derrick Williams Arizona Minnesota

2010 Evan Turner Ohio State Philadelphia

2009 Hasheem Thabeet Connecticut Memphis

2008 Michael Beasley Kansas St. Miami

2007 Kevin Durant Texas Seattle

2006 LaMarcus Aldridge Texas Chicago

i'd say 3 of them are legitimately better than JV (50/50 on oladipo though), 5 of them are absolutely worse, and the jury is out on Russell and Parker. maybe one of them could be better but I doubt it at this point.

TLDR = u guys are batshit crazy if u think trading JV is a good idea.

So much placebo effect ITT

I disagree rather strongly. Nogueira has looked pretty bad out there, save for a couple of games where Lowry made him look good.

I agree. Not strong enough to defend or rebound but good above the rim finisher and good passer

Casey fined $25K by NBA. Not unexpected. Raps are gonna embrace the 'us against the world ' philosophy I guess.

He's not wrong. The whistle has been horrendously biased, as expected. That's just the reality of the NBA.

He didn't even go on a rant. Just stated that Bizmack is getting mauled which is true. NBA refs have been allowing the physical bigs in the league to get assaulted for years though. Dwight suffered through it and now is a injured corpse because of it.

He did mention Kyrie pushes off every play which is true

You're not allowed to point it out. Cause then people would notice the bias... And the NBA doesn't want that. They want LeBron vs. Durant or Curry worse than you could ever imagine.

Here's a fun little tidbit. The Raptors would have HOME COURT ADVANTAGE if they were to face the Thunder in the finals.

JV dtrg for 2015-16 is 102, Biyombo is 101. So tell me again how big the gap on defense is between them?

You can't compare dtrg of individual players. Biyombo is a vastly superior pick and roll defender and rim protector. His mobility on defense is game changing, he even defended Lebron a couple of times on switches last game and didn't embarrass himself!

It could be kind of interesting having both him and JV on the floor together at the same time.

Could you play JV at PF though? I mean that would be the only way to keep both JV and Biz. Though not sure thats possible over a full season.

I don't think that would be interesting in a good way. The offensive spacing would be horrible since both have to play inside.

Unless JV could develop a 3 point shot but even then I'm not sure it would work.

That is what pisses me off about the NBA. That money is an investment. The team has to do it. Just like coaches HAVE to yell at the refs the WHOLE game. It's all that works. Baseball they throw your ass out.

3 point shot? He'd just have to improve his mid range a touch.

One could throw lots of screens on the outside (Biyombo since he has hands of cement). Defensively (at least against teams like the Cavs), it could be very effective. If James wants to shoot mid range jumpers, don't worry too much about it.

I want this story happen so much, if only for the fact that the NBA would s*** bricks for a year

It's pretty funny how Jones got suspended right away for smacking Biyombo but Draymond's case is still pending.

MLB umps are bad and the head office doesn't always make decisions that make sense, but there's no clear cut bias going on every f***ing week it seems

In fairness things like pitch tracks and replays would make it hard for there to be much of a bias, as it would be pretty damn evident. (aside from playoff starting times that is) There's no mechanical system to determine if a foul is really a foul, or a non-call should have been in the NBA. I mean we can certainly SEE the bias (I think more towards superstars than towards a team in general), but there's no concrete evidence we can really point to. Number of fouls doesn't tell the whole story as to whether they were deserved or not.

We were able to watch the replays of Draymond kicking Adams twice in the nuts after the game, last time I checked he still hasnt been suspended for game 4. Jones was suspended almost immediately.

Draymond has officially not been suspended.

Man, after watching those replays.... intent might be hard to prove but it sure is reckless.
