What's worse, the fact that DeRozan is almost blantly tanking, Lowry's ego is forcing him to shoot brick after brick or that Casey puts his star players feeling ahead of it's fanbase

re: Lowry, on some level it doesn't really matter. They're not going to beat Miami with an ailing Lowry and they also aren't going to beat Miami by swapping Joseph for him... so I guess might as well keep rolling him out there, hoping it clicks.

I kinda think Lowry has to keep taking those shots, at least so the D knows he's willing to and tightens up a little, opening up his drive and/or drive and kick game. Hell, maybe he even figures out how to shoot with only one elbow.

He can drive and distribute the ball just fine, his quickness hasn't gone anywhere. Someone should also tell his teammates to stop throwing the ball back to him with 5 seconds left on the clock.

Miami isnt a very good team, their series with Charlotte was just as messy as the Tor-Ind

The amount of possessions that ended with an ISO play after Demar/Lowry got the ball at the top of the 3 point line with 6 seconds left on the shot clock was infuriating.

thats what miami does though. they have always had a fantastic defensive system in place.

I still don't understand how they saw the ball clip the rim on that replay

all refs study inertia and translational momentum now

Really all you need is high school calc. Solve the parabola and see if the ball is where it's supposed to be! must have been one dimple too far along the x axis

Well that's why the did in the regular season for the past 2 years. 1 giant cluster f*** of Iso's and high screen's 30 feet away from the basket, hoping for fouls if they didnt score. Pretty much every reputable writer pointed out that this wouldnt work in the post season when teams gear in on defence and refs put their whistles away. But Casey knows what hes doing

There were many questionable calls and non-calls in this game, plus that awful call after the replay. Horrible basketball, horrible refereeing. On to Game 2.

They just showed Lowry shooting around @ 1:30 am this morning. Something's wrong, injury or not.

as much as we all want it to happen, he cant will his elbow to feel better. even if it is structurally sound there is still a lot that could go wrong after an injury like that. just look at his FT shooting versus any other time in his career, and that is probably the most stable part of a players skillset.

You don't need pictures to tell you his elbow is f***ed, he's been shooting like a d-leaguer for the entire playoffs. That is pretty gross, though, hopefully they drained it yesterday.

I don't really understand basketball, so can someone explain something to me.

Our bench guys seem to have way better +- than our starters.

So, why don't we let our bench guys play a lot more? Are there +- ratings elevated because most of their playing time is against non-starters?

Also, why do we let Lowry take so many 3-point shots, when his percentage is so low right now?

Part of it is because they're playing against other bench players but part of it is also because our starting lineup consisted of scola and derozan a lot of the time. Scola is bad obviously, and derozan has always had a negative impact over the course of his career if you look at on/off numbers.

rip

Clearly it's physical. He's not the type of person/player to just choke, mentally.

If only we lost round 1

yeah casey secured his job imo. unfortunate really cuz i'm sure vogel would like to come here. he couldnt really find a better opportunity really.

this needs to be sent to every single person in the toronto media. i am so sick of these "what wrong with kyle lowry?" and "when will kyle lowry finally step up?" stories. they legitimately make me turn the tv off.
