The Los Angeles Clippers, Portland Trail Blazers, Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors are also expected to pursue bought out Amar'e Stoudemire.

This would be a fantastic signing if we could get it done. We could fill the expirings/Ross to fill another hole.

He probably goes to LA though... Garnett is also likely going to be bought out. Seeing as how he has like 10 mistresses in Toronto we might have a legit shot at him!

Teams like Toronto and Denver want to acquire a star. There's only one problem: There really aren't any star players available right now.

Rival execs who've talked to Raptors believe they may be willing to build a package around Terrence Ross & Jonas Valanciunas to land a star.

Yahoo:

Toronto Raptors (Record: 36-17; last week: 6): Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri has long been infatuated with power forward David West, but it’s hard to see Indiana dealing him with Paul George trying to return.

Hard to see Indy trading West with George returning.......?

That team should be in full tank mode. West would be an interesting get but he likely wouldn't take reduced minutes. Might cause a ruckus.

Well if George comes back somehow, I suppose they can still make the playoffs..won't win a single game though against any of the top 5 teams.

I've mentioned his name in the past, would be great insurance against a Amir injury and is only signed through next year.

Ross+ a first probably gets it done if they are willing to move him.

Wouldn't mind trading our first this year.

I wouldnt either, it's guaranteed money to a player who most likely won't amount to anything. If we do trade it though we can't trade our next year's pick, which we could package with New York's 2016 pick ( which most likely will end up Denver's pick when they swap it)

A Bruno, two first round picks ( one of which is a lottery pick) and an expiring could be a pretty nice package to land something big at next year's deadline. Even though I'd want something to help us reach the ECF at least, we're probably better off standing pat unless we can get a nice vet for spare parts (i.e Ross).

I realize I probably mention a different name every week or so but you know who's the perfect fit for this team right now? Chris Bosh

We all wanted Bosh (or at least some of us) in the offseason lol

Meh I'd rather they go hard for Paul Millsap next offseason than spend 120 million on Chris Bosh.

I think David West would be a terrible fit for the team. He takes a lot of mid range jumpers as a bigman and thats the last thing I want to see for this offence. Basically Demar Derozan in a PF body.

How would a grizzled vet who is a solid rebounder, great defender and not a liability on offence be a bad fit for the team. Our wings don't pass the ball anyway so he cant jack up shots even if he wanted to

Because he is old, not that great of a defender anymore, makes 12.6 million this year and next, and no matter if the wings pass or not will still find a way to shoot his shots. Add in the fact that you have to give up an asset to get a guy who is only going to play max 20 min/game and I don't think its a worthwhile trade.

I don't really love the West idea either tbh.

KG would be a nice pickup IMO. He could still be effective in 10-15 minutes and would be a great defensive influence on JV.

He's also a great team player and has bought into his new role 100%.

Why does the NBA get so many days off during the AS Break?

This is the first year they have done it, I think the players asked for it

He is old but he's a smart player who plays below the rim anyway and doesn't rely on his athleticism. Ross is brutal so the only real asset we're giving up is the first round pick, which would hold minimal value at best. The salary really isnt an issue since i doubt we're going to sign someone big in FA next year.
