burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I'd like to see JJ in the dunk contest and continue the trend of Raptors in the competition. He is one of the best power dunkers in the game.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Come on Amir, Lowry needs dem stats and flashy highlights to get into the ASG.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 most of the Celtics didn't bring their game back for the second half. but I like seeing the Raps with some made buckets and lots of sharing the rock. now they have to do that against teams that guard.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Come on Amir, Lowry needs dem stats and flashy highlights to get into the ASG. Lol thats what I thought Lowry was thinking when I saw his reaction.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Vasquez is even worse in person. Dude honestly floats around the court like he's a sloth when he doesnt have the ball in his hands. I would never wish injury on anybody but he's really pushing me.

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Hawks-Wizards game coming up tomorrow. Win-win for the Raps!

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Atlanta just demolished the Wizards. I think it's safe to say our run last year wasn't this impressive. Looking forward to the next time we play them. Hopefully Ross is gone by then

Looking forward to the next time we play them. Hopefully Ross is gone by then They have such good coaching. I don't think their roster is anything that special but their coaches put their players in a position to succeed. Bud is a top 5 coach and maybe even better. Looks like all those years under Pop helped.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 They're roster is very good. Millsap, Horvord, Teague, Korver, etc. But yes, they're much better coached than the Raptors.

I mean they're no slouches but I would take Toronto, Washington, Chicago and Cleveland's rosters before theirs.

Really good PG, best pair of big men in the conference. I love Korver too, guy is f***ing lethal and a solid defender. Carroll is another great roll player. I'd like to see them get a deeper bench though

We have the better guard combo, though like you said Teague and Korver are solid too, while they have much better bigs in Millsap and Horford. We probably win in being able to have JJ (should be Ross with the way he's been playing lately), Patterson and Lou on his good days coming off the bench but overall both teams could draw out a 7 game series to the end.

I think I would probably switch lineups with them but it's close. I would definitely take theirs over Washington. Although they might be losing millsap and Carroll this summer. I like Mike Scott and Schroder coming off the bench but our bench is better I'd agree with that

I'd like to see them get a deeper bench though Korver's awesome, pretty much better than Ross in every facet of the game. I was watching a Hawk game last week and he set a nice reverse pick on an opposing big, freeing Millsap open for an corner three. They're probably the only team IMO that can beat the Bulls in the east, but id stlil take us over them in 7 games if we can upgrade Ross or bring in another quality big

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I'm a huge fan of Korver. Bud is the perfect coach for him too as he is one the best offensive coaches and knows how to get Korver a lot of open 3 looks. Hawks are really the Spurs of the East.

Korver might be the most valuable player in the league given his contract. He is immensely underrated around the league
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Korver might be the most valuable player in the league given his contract. He is immensely underrated around the league Im as big a Korver fan as anyone but he isn't nearly that good lol. He is turning 34 years old in a few months. Off the top of my head Steph Curry's contract is one of the very best and you can even include Klay Thompson when you consider where the cap is going and you have him for 4 more years. Ibaka's is really good too. Im probably missing a few more. Edit: Demarcus Cousins is another with 3 years and around 34 million and can't believe I forgot our very own Kyle Lowry at 12 million per season.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Didnt Clay just sign a max deal or close to it? Conley's contract is pretty cheap as well
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Klay's was 4 years 70 million that kicks in next season. Jame Harden's another steal of a contract with 2 years and a Team option for close to 16 million per season. What would you guys say the 5 worst contracts in the NBA are?
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Josh Smith, Joe Johnson, Deron Williams, Kobe Bryant, Erick Gordon are the one's the pop out to me. There's probably a bunch of Landry Fields' contracts out there though.

Obviously it was hyperbole but he is clearly a top 10 value asset. His skillset will age gracefully so I don't see his age as an issue for at least a few seasons.

His skillset will age gracefully so I don't see his age as an issue for at least a few seasons. I wouldn't put Korver in the top 10. I do think he will age better than others but with the cap going up the difference between the MLE and those other contracts really isn't much. Have to remember Korver wouldn't be as good on other teams because the coaching is worse. Its like the Pop rule where guys like Matt Bonner and Marco Belineli can be effective role players in his system but were journeyman before. Lol looking at Brooklyn's team and cap situation and they have to have the worst future of any team. Those contracts are terrible and they have no draft picks.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I feel like Bosh's contract is awful too. He is turning 31 and has 4 more years left on the deal. In a couple years it could be a complete write off. At least with the Fields and the Bryant deals they are expiring by next season.
Guest Verified Member Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I agree Korver is awesome. Great shooter (one of the most efficient players in the league), decent defender and he does the little things to help his team win. High bball IQ guy as well.

Sure Korver's better in this awesome system but I guarantee he's a really good player no matter what team. One of the best shooters of all time who can play solid defense for 6 million - when the cap is going sky high is going to be like pennies. For instance, replace Ross with Korver and tell me the Raptors aren't much better because of it. Lol ya, love how screwed Brooklyn is. It's awesome
