Faried isn't any better than Patterson defensively. Hes a fantastic rebounder but his actual defense isn't that good. And when you think of how many drives to the rim is allowed by the likes of GV/Lou/Ross/Lowry then I don't think it is a good fit. That is why i like Amir so much for this team because he is a great help defender and offers decent rim protection.

Patterson has become a solid defender, but he can't rebound for s*** and offensively he has a hard time getting his shots with this group. Patterson is probably our best overall big right now which is kind of s cary thing. Faried is undersized but he's pretty active and isn't the black hole JV is on that end. Amir can die any week now.

http://hoopshype.com/salaries/denver.htm Where do you get 80 million from? He also didn't sign Faried to the extension or trade away Fournier (who looks like a pretty good draft pick) I just think your blaming him for more than he had control for. The Mcgee move was obviously terrible but I really don't see another move that looks that bad.

Seems like B-R isn't picking up a few of those as team options. Your site doesn't include the team options in the final amount.

Anyways, I think Wilson Chandler gets picked up and maybe Foye does too.

Patterson doesn't get much shots because he doesn't force anything. Defenses aren't leaving him open anymore because he has shown he can make shots which opens the floor up for guys like Lowry and Demar who like to drive to the rim.

You are criminally underrating Amir. He is allowing opponenets to shoot 3.9% worse than their average from less than 6 feet and it was 5.6% last year. The team's DEF RTG with him on the floor is 103.2, off the floor it is 106.7 http://stats.nba.com/player/#!/101161/tracking/defense/?Season=2013-14

Denver for comparison is giving up 106.5 PTS/100 posessions with Faried on the floor and 103 with him off the floor. His rim protection hasn't been bad this year with opponents 1.9% worse than their average but still is much worse than Amir while he is also a much less efficient offensive player than Amir.

When you look at all that info including contract and health it is clear to me Amir even at 80% is the much better player and fit for the team.

Exactly, so they don't have 80 million committed next year. Denver is still in a better situation than a lot of teams in the NBA.

We have 27 committed for that off season, just Patterson Lowry and Derozan. Faried's 12 won't make much of an impact on signing someone. (theres rumours it's going to sky rocket up to 80-90 million anyways with the new TV deal)

Not always having to rely on Patrick Patterson to be out there for defensive purposes every night would be a nice change of pace.

Yeah, that Zach Lowe article he said the speculation is 90 million lol. 27 million increase!

Watching the Twolves game, Wiggins looks good. Doesn't force anything, great rebounding and defense, efficient scoring.

Last 5 games 23 ppg on 53% shooting 41% from 3

Exciting finish to the Twolves-Suns game, sucks that Wiggins missed the buzzer beater at the end but he had less than a second to get the shot off.

Watched the first half of that game then decided to do something else. I don't know if it was much of the same in the 2nd half but the Twolves shot selection was just awful to watch. Seemed like all they would run were postups and if they couldn't get them the ball they would jack up a long 2. Wiggins looked good from what I saw.

f***in ESPN's colour analyst called him Anthony Wiggins and then was complaining about the floor being wet cuz of an NHL game even though the Wild don't play in the same arena.

"Don't listen to the haters, the contested long 2 is a great shot to take"- Kobe

I'm interested to see how Derozan plays when he gets back. I really hope he isn't afraid or timid to drive to the rim after the injury. Thats the most valuable thing he does and something he should do even more instead of settling for jumpers.

Wiggins looked good but christ the T-Wolves are horrible. Just a bunch of chuckers.

They need to trade Thad Young ASAP if they want Wiggins to really take off. He's trying to go Kobe almost every single night now. 18 shots last night WTF.

It'll be interesting to see how many touches Wiggy gets when Martin and Pekovic come back.

Lol

But yeah, Wiggins looking like a stud. Hopefully he pulls a Lebron and decides to play for his home town.

Dammit. I turned on my PS4 when it was a 5 pt game and liek 30 seconds left, missed the dramatic ending!

Their offense is brutal without Rubio. Mo williams should never be a starting point guard, ever.

So bad at running an offense. Wiggins game is so smooth right now though, love watching him play.

Detroit has won 7 games in a row lol. Josh Smith is everything wrong with basketball. He chucked up 20 f***ing shots in 25 minutes against the bulls for 20 points..with 4 turnovers

Rudy Gay trade 2.0. Detroit is going to be a bitch to play against in the playoffs. SVG is such a ridiculously good coach

Yeah Wiggins is really encouraging especially for how young he is. Only thing I worry about is he will develop bad habits playing for that s***** T Wolves team. Like the rest of the Twolves he takes a few long 2s that are unnecessary. If he can develop his ball handling he will be a terror since his first step is as good as anyone.

Isn't he like 7 years away from being a FA though? KD to Toronto is probably more realistic than Wiggins.

Yeah, Wiggins wouldn't be coming here for a long time still.

I don't see any reason why he shouldn't improve his ball handling, clearly has a really good Basketball IQ and work ethic. He will be a star in 2 years or less

Curious what makes you think he has a really good basketball IQ? I admit I have only watched him a handful of times in game action this year but in those games I didn't see anything that made me think he was that smart of a player. He settles for a lot mid range jumpers to me it seems.

Basketball IQ is way more than whether a person settles for jump shots. I don't know if he does have high IQ because I haven't watched him but isn't he already one of their better defenders?

Well obviously but from what I have watched I haven't really seen anything that makes him look like he has a huge basketball IQ. He still makes rookie mistakes like bad passes and stuff like that so thats why I was wondering what he saw in him.

Yeah he doesn't have high iq because he still makes rookie mistakes... After 30 games.

I guess I should have said it's developing and could be really good.

He seems to understand his strengths, he has by far the most fga under 5 feet than in any other area, only takes 1.8 3PA per game which to me shows he understands when to take them (shooting 39% so he could throw up a lot more on the merit he is making them at an abv avg clip).

Plays smart defense whether it be 1 on 1, rotating or knowing when to help off etc.

Yeah the thing I like that I have seen is that he doesn't seem to force a lot of shots. Being on such a bad team he could chuck if he wanted to but seems to pass if it isn't there. I just hope he gets good coaching while he is young to try to steer him in to a James Harden type rather than a Kobe type.
