Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 At the risk of appearing to be a racist, I'll sustain from posting a pic of a black hand next to a pic of a white hand, but we all know that's something the refs are going to review going into next game.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Lou also had a terrible night. 1-10 from the field and his defense was shaky. GV was actually a better defender than him tonight.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Ummmm exactly..and I think GV is terrible as a defender.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Why is Vasquez on the team? Also, James Johnson looked like a goddamn star tonight, what was Casey watching when he decided to go with Lou Williams chucking away the lead? JV and JJ were both beasts tonight and he decides to bench them nearly the entire 4th quarter. What a coincidence that Portland wrecked the Raps down the stretch.

I don't know if you're just a casual but you seem to understand the game and its mistakes pretty well. Kudos to you. Vasquez pretty much made some clutch shots last year in the playoffs and prior to the acquisition of Lou Williams he was our only backup guard to Lowry. I will say that most of us wanted him back if he didn't cost too much, as he seemed to appear to enjoy the city and the fans. We were aware of his defensive woes and figured maybe his decent shot could make him a decent guy off the bench, the 2 guard combination of him and Kyle at the same time worked a lot, but it's been a mess this year when his partner is often Lou Williams. Completely agree on JJ and Valanciunas, Lou was getting iso after iso even though he wasn't hitting s***, and then there's the case that him and Vasquez out on the floor for most of the quarter is a disaster on defense, whereas Johnson is excellent and doesn't rely on his shot at all on offense. I also couldn't believe JV wasn't getting some PT over Amir who, while all of them ********, had 5 fouls on him since way before the 4th quarter ended.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I love watching James Johnson play. I feel like he's a quality starter on a good team, very smart player and I absolutely love watching his footwork around the basket. Great defender, and he seems to me like a very efficient offensive player idk. Thanks, I watched basketball a long time ago but I'm really just hopping on the bandwagon here. It's a fun sport to watch but games like this are really frustrating.

Well Vasquez is on the team because there really isn't anyone else to play backup PG. I think the reason JJ was out of the game in favour of Gv/Lou is because they wanted Lowry to play off ball more. From the post game it sounds like he is pretty fatigued and with Ross/JJ on the floor Lowry is going to get tired even quicker while having to have the ball in his hands almost all of the time. I think PP was in there for JV because he spaces the floor much better and allows guys like Lowry to penetrate. Which did work as Lowry got to the rim a lot of time but just failed to get the basket/foul. I really don't see JV making a difference in this game of he was in there instead of Ppat. I feel bad because he seems to always get the short end of the stick with refs but his body language is awful. When you throw your hands up and wave them off at refs calling it garbage it will not help you at all.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Just one of those games. Defense was incredible for most of the game but we just couldn't make open shots when we needed them. I'm not even mad about this... I LOVED the defensive intensity for teh first three quarters. We have a good team here gents. I do agree with the comments about JJ not playing in the 4th... Pretty mind boggling. JV was also on a very short leash as well which angered me. Anyways, GSW will be tough but we should be able to handle Phoenix and then it's back home to an easy schedule. Things are looking up.

He also had some character issues in the past which held him back but he seems to be over that now. He definitely has the ability to start in this league.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I know the refs were HORRIBLE but you could just feel the game change after KL botched that half court alley opp with 5 mins left in the first half. It just seemed like the game went to s*** from there. So it looks like we should be able to finish this road trip off at 3-3 which is my guess.....i look at this as a pretty good west coast trip.

We can't win every single game. Real GM is about to implode beacuse of this loss.

ManOnThird Verified Member Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 To me, the funniest part of that clip is not the ball hitting him again as it falls, but the cameramen sitting courtside all angling forward to get a better shot of him lying there in defeat.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Bruno recalled from D-League already. Demar is also likely to return on Jan 8th.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Wiggy really playing some nice ball. 27 pts 9 rebs 4 steals last night. Can't wait to see him play with Rubio.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 That FiveThirtyEight article on Wiggins was actually awful. Expected better from them. O YA, HIS PPG ISN'T WHERE LEBRON'S WAS, LET'S USE FANTASY BASKETBALL TO DETERMINE HIS SUCCESS His FG% is comparable to Durant Melo and Tony Parker among others' rookie seasons and they completely ignored defense, lol
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Latest Anthony Davis is a complete boss stat: Anthony Davis is 18-for-20 w/ the score within 5 points in the last 5 minutes this season
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 It's weird how the Pelicans aren't much better than they actually are. They are very talented. Eric Gordon injury hurts but they should be better than .500.
