Drake has almost 7M followers on his Instagram and he basically just spams the s*** out of it with Raptors posts. The amount of exposure he's given this franchise is probably impossible to measure. Feel free to hate the music but he's had a very positive impact on this franchise.

I think people are annoyed when the colours of the team are decided by him and hearing our players called "Big Science" just adds to it. Personally, I don't really care much about him. He's good for Raps publicity but its not like he turned around the franchise or anything. Masai is why the team is headed in a good direction.

The logo's not so bad without the circle. It's already circular, the circle isn't needed.

I don't really get the hate. New logo is legit. I liked the old ball and claws too but the font was really bad with the cheesy Jurassic park serifs and the jerseys were very boring.

 

Looks like the only goof here was the original decision to release the black and white version which was too close to Brooklyn's (but better).

yeah but to be fair the Jays rebrand was basically a tap in. The old brand was awesome and the metallijay was horrendous - took no brains.

 

I question the timing of this Raptors rebrand though. Why during the season?

lol, if I was doing a rebrand like this I would probably let it "leak" early in the process just to gauge fan reaction.

I'm very surprised more teams don't do this. Seems like a very useful technique.

I signed it. Not sure what it'll do, but I signed a petition a while back to save one of my favorite shows from cancelation and it was indeed saved due to "fan backlash," so why not. :P

I think fan backlash from social media is more telling than petitions these days. Can't see them changing it anyway considering how many millions would of been spent on it.

 

Best thing they could do is go with the red logo and remove the shield imo.

What a wild f***ing game last night. Hats off to the Raps for turning it around after a s***** 1st quarter/1st half and a huge shout out to the amazing Raps fans who were there out cheering the Pistons fans.

What the f*** does "Big Science" even mean? That's one of the worst nicknames I've ever heard.

That might get expensive. They still have to pay for the designs regardless if fans like them or not. The thing is, the fans are almost never happy, so I'm not sure how useful it would even be,

 

I think if the Raptors organization had any idea the team would turn things around like they did, we wouldn't be getting a re-brand. As for the actual logo, I don't really mind it. It's not great, but it's not the disaster people are making it out to be. I also think Drake is getting a lot of unnecessary blame for it. His influence is probably not as great as we think it is.

People are pissed off at Drake because JV is called Big Science on the broadcasts.

While i do think that Drake cares about the raps, I think what also bothers people is that he's using it to market himself. The black and gold has more to do with his brand OVO than anything. The red and white was supposed to represent canada, and yet in this new logo, it's almost nowhere to be seen.
